Every game this unit gets strafed, its an auto kill that take out alot of munnition (150).  WM do have any options to instantly kill american or CW officer with out giving them a chance to avoid it.  So if im playing an american airbourne player and i bring out the officer its just pretty point less, as i have no way to avoid the run, therefore he just dies.  If i firestorm a allied officer the red smoke comes down and then the keen player can avoid certian death, but I am unable to do this.  So why is the strafe instant kill when i can do nothing about it? same goes for snipers.

bad luck i say, keep your officer in cover as well. Open or negative cover will = deal units; whether they be officer or infantry. Utilizing cover is your best bet, usually will just result in supressed units with health reduction rather then dead units.

Keeping the officer in cover is also impossible consider it is an assault officer, you rush him forward to get close enought to infantry to kill them and then the officer gets strafed.  This happen alot to me, I really would like a german strafing run to instantly kill Allied officers, but hey that would be op, wouldn't it?

i thought the luftwaffe had the panzercracker? instead of raping infantry, it rapes tanks. And thats false, you can get your officer in cover hwen you charge in, I do it with my american officer 60% of the time (the other 40% im dicking around and dont care, cause he is leet sauce, and i have 2 now btw Smiley

Small frail specialist units like officers or snipers getting raped by unavoidable offmaps will always feel cheap, then again on big 3v3 and 4v4 maps its harder to hit a moving player with a strafe.

Think about it this way, if someone wants to use up one of their off maps just to kill an officer thats their choice. I would be happy to sacrifice 1 officer compared to 3 squads of grens that they could hit with a strafe instead.

It's not impossible to keep an officer in cover.

Just click behind the cover and BAM! Officer in cover.

I've never lost an officer (defensive and terror) to a strafe, and I ran a vet 3 terror officer before the level 8 patch along with a few vet 2 terror officers during the level 8 patch.  My officer and units in general never stop moving so even if a strafe comes I can usually avoid it.  Plus, I never use roads if I'm traveling on the frontlines with my infantry.  Currently I hotkey my defensive officer so I'll always have a way to quickly access it, but I used to just group my terror officer with my grenadiers because the terror officer needs to be at the front lines.  If you're new to using officers (defensive or terror, it doesn't matter) then you'll naturally lose your first few.  It takes awhile to get used to keeping an eye on your officer and knowing when to use it, but when you get the hang of it they can be very effective weapons.

ITS AN ASSAULT OFFICER! What hard to understand? You rush him forward to get close to the enemy to get the effects workingm then come the strafe, bye bye officer.

This ablity is great if the enmy sits in the sector, but any half smart play would inatntly run from this area, and then that ability is wasted.
