Tiger with barrels can mess up anything, and as long as you got the health and there's no allied disablers on the field it can mangle fireflies too. Spottter spotter spotter.
It does take incredible damage from piats and rr's though. I wish RR could be tuned against tiger so that you would have to use 57mms or tank destroyers against it (which do very well because of tiger turret and move speed).
The devs should work on forcing the allies to deploy their tank destroyers and at guns to bring down a axis heavy instead of goddamn rrs and piats charging tanks. Especially airborne could benefit from being forced into using its at guns together with rr's instead of two vet 3 rrs taking potshots and then backing off.
Piats although damaging are no excuse as the sappers are weak as a platform and can get instagibbed by the tiger + crappy range so they shouldnt be weakened against it.
If the devs are serious about wanting to make the Tiger a acceptable unit, two things that would help the most are:
- RR penetration against Tigers (For all I care make it a buyable ghost skirt) - TURRET TURN SPEED

They can! http://www.coh-stats.com/Weapon:Recoilless_RifleThe Tiger has its own target table entry, so the devs could easily tune the RR vs Tiger Armor

Make RRs a tad more balanced. Like reducing penetration on both front and rear, but keeping damage the same if it does pen. would be good imo, because a tiger shouldnt die as easily as it does to manpacked AT

I don't think it's fair you would expect the standard Tiger to stand up to vet 3 RR + AT Eagles + Raid assault (which in its current state is broken). Now take a vet 3 tiger with heat rouds and long barrels and try again. I ran double Tigers on my Wehr last war, I have faced the RR hordes and I have fought Tigers with RR hordes. Due to the Tiger's ability to deal massive damage it is actually probably the only vehicle based unit that can somewhat perform against AB. Skirted PzIVs do NOT die slower than a Tiger, that's absolutely rubbish. (At least is is in a real situation where the AB will have their doctrine abilities) And what happened to the last blitz t4? It's coming and it's actually a reincarnation of the Tiger Ace. (Albeit in a less OP form)

I hope its a t4 that buffs the actual tiger instead of raping the point of getting a T3 Tiger by enabling you to pick both barrels and battle hardened and still get a tiger.

It'll probably only come in with the doctrine rework, and yes it's basically a buff to the existing tiger, not a new unit.

A single machine gun works wonders in covering a tiger or any unit from infantry based AT. Yea AB can fire-up but then for the next 5 minutes they're screwed.
I'm not running a Blitz doctrine but I wouldn't use a Tiger or Pershing over a P4 or Sherman because of resource cost and the reduction in the number of charging opportunities made possible by more tanks. But covering any tank with an ATG and a MG greatly increases their combat capability, especially in tandem with a spotter.

And then the next time the AB get suppressed they strafe the MG. And then the next time the AB get suppressed they bomb the MG. That has always been the problem with ABs, they can get 2 strafes and 2 bombs without a tier 4. Old air superiority was 3 strafes and 2 bombs for a tier 2, 3, and 4 doctrine choice. Skirted PzIVs do NOT die slower than a Tiger, that's absolutely rubbish. (At least is is in a real situation where the AB will have their doctrine abilities) P4 with skirts has 25% chance to bounce and 25% reduced damage. With AT eagles thats 90% chance to penetrate with 25% reduced damage. Thus 600/.9/.75= 890 effective hp. Also P4 has better acceleration and moving accuracy, enabling it to kite airborne better than the tiger.

Also P4 has better acceleration and moving accuracy, enabling it to kite airborne better than the tiger. This is a pretty moot point considering the tiger's vast superiority when it comes to actually killing the AB. (In the hands of a good player anyway)

It is so easy to make the tiger worth it again.. TOV added shitloads of abilities and upgrades for the tiger in the campaign which could all be used here in the doctrines (for example the HE rounds or tank commander).

The T4 Tiger Ace is the TOV Tiger, skin wise anyway . And it will have the commander ability. That's where the comparisons stop thank god.

This is a pretty moot point considering the tiger's vast superiority when it comes to actually killing the AB. (In the hands of a good player anyway) Considering you can get two P4s for every tiger, I doubt a tiger will kill as much as two P4s. When I was playing around with heat rounds P4s they usually end up with 25+ kills each. I've never seen a tiger get 50+ kills if it wasnt a noobstomp.

All I can say is that after the P4 vet range buff was removed I had considerably more trouble fighting Tigers with RR hordes than I did P4s. (With raid assault)
