Can anyone (I'm assuming AmPm will step in and do this) explain to me how AP rounds work exactly and how they are best used, I don't think I'll be getting them, but once I get into T4 territory I'd like to know my options.

AFAIK you buy them for what, shermans, M10s, M18s, and the pershing, but how much do they cost? How many uses do you get? Do you do extra damage or just extra penetration? AmPm praises them so I just want to see how they are best used and anything in that regard.

it's just like the 57mm ap rounds, actually, it's exactly that, the same bonuses and cooldown, its just for tanks, and you use 'em just like you would AP rounds for the at gun, although I think the ap rounds for tanks may be unlimited, not sure.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

You can buy them on M10, M18, Sherman 76 gets it for free, Pershing gets HVAP gun.

What do they do.

500% pen
25% dam

15 second duration, 5 min cooldown

What are they useful on...

M18's. On M10s the chance of misfire makes it iffy, and they can't cloak to get the first shot. They also do not get any range bonuses. Sherman 76 can use them for free, however, the bonus damage since it is a percent is less than the m18, and the Sherman is not significantly tougher than a vetted doctrine M18.

I vaguely remember that 57mms using their AP rounds ability take a 25% hit to accuracy while doing so, can anyone confirm? Almost any freaking attempts at using ap rounds have been rewarded with misses lately.

It doesn't.   ATGs just have not so good accuracy at long range.

Oh free AP rounds on the upgunned shermans? That's pretty awesome. I still would like to run a NGV company if it gets buffed, but AP rounds sound pretty fun. Heat rounds sound pretty awesome too, I'd like to see those in action, I imagine an unupgunned sherman with those activated would totally annihilate gren squads.

I made whole crazy comparison post somewhere.

SUmmary:
HVAP - penetration buffs ONLY, splash reduced from 5 to 3.
+ vs heavy tanks front armour
- vs havy tanks rear armour
- vs infantry
no change vs anything under panther.

First off, unupgunned shermans are better against inf. Heat rounds? Perhaps you mean high explosive rounds. I would like to see that in action, tho Smiley

HVAP for the pershing is very good.  You lose the ability to kill half a squad of infantry a shot but no more bouncing off stugs and hetzers!  Cheesy

Pershing with HVAP in vanilla is a little better than a sherman for anti-infantry but can easilly beat a tiger 1v1.
