Exactly - it's no different from any other, so why should it have an un-intended handi-cap, like engine damage from nebels?

It is different, as it has better armour than any other artillery piece. The nebel can be decrewed, even from a strafing run.
The overdrive was probably only designed for direct combat tanks, not for artillery units.

Lol you haven't seen a nebel on blitz then. Just a simple vet 1 gives it 20% more speed, which combined with blitz gives it 5 speed, only a little bit slower than a P4.
On a road the above blitz nebel has 8.6 speed, thats about the speed of an overdrive cromwell, faster than a bike.
I"m talking about a nebel without blitz... Its not very fast
But yes remove blitz from nebles and Flank Speed from callies.

they should have hummel armor and speed. if u really want to kill them you should have the chance to do. but u cant kill a calli if its at least a bit supported.

usually yes but saying "its a T1 and a T2" makes it look like removing flank speed from calliopes is almost like removing the T1 and T2 ability and that was not the topic and will not happen by removing flankspeed from calliopes

I see this as an issue of stacking buffs; A T1 is stacking very well with a T2. How many times do we have stacking buffs in the game that really create a balance issue? How many times are balance threads brought up demanding change?
Solution! When the new doctrine trees are created, I'd imagine that flank speed and the Cali will be hard to get. In other words, you'd have to sacrifice a lot in order to receive both unlocks. That said, any further discussion in this area is a bit pointless, you cannot argue that one stacking buff is OP and ignore others. If you want one changed, you must also change the rest. I do not think anyone in this thread is willing to do that, so just drop it and wait for the balance tree fixes.

Perhaps T2, but arguing its a T3 ability is a bit too much. There are plenty of T1 and T2 abilities that I would rank above overdrive; therefore, as a T3 it would be a bit lack luster.

Stop using arguments like this one, it's like saying blitz is t3 worth since it's free escape for nebels, sniper and other shit. Also remeber that you have to pay for it.

its a huge advantage while attacking, u can crush everything on 2 foods with ease and it negates every PAK

I disagree completely with you aloha, flank speed costs..and it really doesn't break anything, I dont find anything unbalanced about it tbh. Sure its useful but by no means OP. Btw callis cost a huge amount of resources so having these options like smoke and flank speed to escape seems fine to me.

It does not matter if it costs. If you play against a a good callie player it`s a bitch to kill it ( compare it to a hummel , e.g. ) . This Overdrive Ability even enhances the viability of the most viable artillery piece and that`s good for the callie but bad for the overall gameplay. If you think callies, which will be easier to vet and therefore there will be more vetted callies will bring benefits for the overall gamplay then it`s the right thing to vote for flank speed on the callie. But on the other hand compare it`s viability with the Hummel. Enuff said .....
