Tym's Armor Company Ideas

I was in the Armor Company thread and just started coming up with ideas and it kept on going so I thought I'd make my own thread about it since I had so many.
Tell me what you think.
Tank Destroyer No More
- Makes M10's and M18's more accurate vs infantry but also gives less penetration vs vehicles.
Sandbags - With .50 cal upgrade, Sherman gains 15% less incoming penetration and 15% more health
Diversified Munitions
- Engineers can place Hawkins and M8 mines.

Forward Scout
- Jeeps cloak in cover and have sight and detection radius reduced by 50% when cloaked. (makes it different than ketten since ketten can cloak whenever and you can't hear jeeps, plus if you dont hide it well, it'll fire without you wanting it to)
Ridin Durty
- Infantry can ride on tanks.
Advanced AP Rounds
- Upgrade for Quad that allows it to take down light armor, cost 100 mu and only has 2 uses (i know its already pretty good at this but I've seen a mod do this and it was so awesome albeit powerful, price would need to be pretty high to balance it)
Focus Fire
- When this ability is active all vehicles fire 25% slower with 25% more accuracy and 25% more damage.
Pershing Command/Ace
- Pershing Gains command aura that gives bonuses I say small about 5-10% about a 10-15 cell range (i think this could be a cool t4 for all heavy tanks and would prevent so much soloing)
On Board Detectors
- Tanks gain a small mine detecting ability. (can make it real short like 5-10 or maybe 10+ if standing still)
Rocket Slug
- Callie fires a more focused rocket barrage with 50% less rockets.
Sawed off
- Callie fires wider rocket barrage with 50% more rockets
Sherman Jumbo
- (kinda same as sandbags) Upgrade for the Sherman You can buy a sherman jumbo package that include a bulldozer that gives 25% incoming penetration resistence and 25% more health but reduces speed by 10%
Sherman Easy Eight
- Upgrade for Sherman that gives 10% speed boost, automatic upgun that gives 15% more damage and same penetration bonuses
105 Sherman
- Sherman with 105
easy enough.
^ maybe this can all be tied together in a t4 called "Multi-purpose Shermans" or something like that
thats all I've got for now.

I think he wants to switch the guns. (ie. an M10 with an AI gun.)

Right, Its purchasable and it wouldn't have the splash of a sherman. It'd just be more accurate vs infantry and it will suffer a penalty that it's not as good as it used to be vs tanks.

Riding on the back of a tank sounds ok, as long as the units get the negative cover and/or 50% more incoming accuracy.

It wont make them worthless but it will at least make you want to buy Shermans and actually use them.

I kind of agree. I was thinking 20 still for the hawkins and about 50-75 for the m8 mine. I was just trying to think of a nice upgrade for engineers since they get no <3.

I agree it is, thats why you'd make it pretty expensive. You can always turn off the suppression thats on it when its in use. One of my least viable ideas tbh that i think would work in our environment but is a cool idea none the less

they should be vulnerable to all fire incoming onto the tank as they can't dodge incoming shots while sitting on a tank. Basically, you load 'em onto the tank, drive up before the front line, let 'em off. You dont take them into battle with you with them riding on the tank. If tank blows with infantry on it, so do the infantry.

I disagree with most of you proporsals in current state, but increasing m10 accuracy
versus infantry let's say in cost of the speed (so it can't crush so easy) would sound more rational.
But I would love to see Jumbo, 105mm and easy 8.

Ain't there something you can copy from singleplayer? I think in some of the cutscenes you see infantry riding tanks.

Thats an animation; with the infantry already animated on the tanks. If there was a way to trigger that animation, it would be golden; but their isn't. Plus it would look weird infantry going inside of a tank then men magically appearing ontop of it.

then there's this penalty. they'd be like sitting sucks and they wouldn't be able to fire but since it can't be done, w/e. At least i'm trying to come up with ideas instead of always trying to shoot down other peoples, what have you guys contributed lately other than negativity?

No Tym, Im with you all the way. I think infantry mounting tanks is a great idea. They could hang on to a m10 driving past a building, and throw a grenade at the mg inside as they pass by.
I also think hawkins mines for engineers would be cool.

Yes, British Campaign - Authie: Boudica's Boys (1st Mission). Personally, I'd LOVE to see that
(No shooting from the tank ofc and they can still take dmg unlike in Halftrack).. It's sad that it can't be done.. I guess those men are floating like when you got Main Gun Damaged? I noticed that the Damaged main gun is kinda floating when the tank drives too.
New Sherman variants would be 100% awesomeness.

i think the sherman veriants would be a great t4. It'd just be like purchasing an upgrade, except that it changes some stats on the original unit.
the thing is, you can still only have so many, you get a t4, you get 3 new units, while not overally powerful either one of them, they give you new goodies that give armor a new flavor.
