I've noticed as I start to get better I'm accumulating a lot of vet, especially on my infantry. Having 40PP's invested in vet (on all 3 of my main accts actually) kinda creeps me out. I get over protective and have lost games or played bad because of being over protective or losing my cool after someone one shots a whole squad of my pzgrens with a Stuart.

Do any of you find yourself doing the same things?

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

Victory > Vet, I even sacrified both of jagdpanzers to win the game, I hate playing with vet whores they are just stay on back and feed up more their vet, it's just sad.

solution? I usually only vet whore 1 or 2 units that I like to micro intensively. A good example is my upgun sherman  (currently vet 3) and my M18 (currently vet 2). My other units i let them be, if they live they life, if not, I dont break a sweat. I'd recommend just focusing your whoring on a few units, not an entire battalion.

Another solution is to only wet whore units which are piss easy to vet up and keep alive, like tommies or grenadiers. I generally don't let anything happen to my vet 3 FF(it's the only one in EiRR :O), and vetwhore it extensively ^^.

Just infantry, tanks are too prone to flat-out dying to basically anything in general. Ya feel me?

well, that vet 3 firefly scared the shit out of a vet 3 panther and a king tiger just today so it's come in handy. 10% reload 20% dmg and 15% acc, yeah...freakin tank killer for real.

During me.. PE days, i vet whored alot.. 5 wins 35 losses anyone? as a WM, fighting to the very end, with every soldier, tank, that wins the game for me, if i have a nearly destoryed P4 with no repairs left i go use it to take out a priest, or a howizter, or sit them behind the line for quick responce to infantry, after its destroyed bang another P4 Smiley

and well frankly it works.

my blitz i have 1 vet. my tiger.
my terror i have no vet.

and we can see how many games i win against horde of vet 2-3 infantry and elite infantry because i know if i kill 3 members in a squad they going to retreat it, because they are so protective with vet, i used it against them.

i like to have throw away infantry and vet infantry, so that i can play different ways or make a good p ush. also, i've got two FF's, one for  normal battles and then bring out the 2nd to handle the mop up  Cheesy 18-8 as  cw, i think im doing pretty good.

No such thing as too much vet, a fully vet 3 army will destroy a vet 0 army even with sloppy play just due to their firepower and survivability. As long as the unit is no longer usefull or is sure to die you might aswell call it off, such as when 2 m10s rush your trapped inf or or your suppressed and inf is chasing you. People called my PE company vet whoring but it just wasnt, i only called of the unit if i believed it would be of no use, and being killed makes it of no use.

To answer the original question, I tend to 'baby' my lovely rangers, and it leads me to being a bit more cautious with them (though I do risk them in flanks, but I keep a few vet 0s to sacrifice for the higher vet 3s to run and live).

However, I do not mind sacrificing vet if you feel that you can reliably take out your opponent's vet.  Just the other 3 I sacrificed a vet 3 ranger so my team could take out a Vet 3 Panzer 4, Vet 3 Panther, a Vet 3 Tiger, and two Vet 3 grens.... to me the enemy losing the tanks especially and the insta-rape grens for my rangers was an even trade, even though it was my leaderboard rangers.... *sniffs*  Cool

i think i may have a bit of that but that is because i can usually get my units off with 1 man left.

the amount of times i have almost lost my vet 3 grens and said bail they have survived and with usually dealing even more damage then if i had bailed with 2 or 3 left or even guys who see arty fall near there unit and say retreat! only unit i do kinda take care with is my vet 3 panther. though it takes care of itself pritty well even when people try to vet hunt it lol. tat thing kicks ass. not 2 say alot of stuff vet3 kicks ass lol.

too much vet can be a good thing as long as ur willing to risk it being annihilated.

I try my best to vet up my airborne as much as possible. But I also hold winning as a higher priority than vet whoring, so if the squads gotta die to win the engagement, then they're staying.

this is also compounded by the fact I play with 2 armor players, and they need their Infantry support, so I risk my squads alot to make sure we got a stable line, and inf. for counter pushes.

Any airborne i get to vet 2 usually gets gunned down first anyways. Might as well soak up the shots.
