Just update COH, you'll be fine, there is no conflict.

Welcome! You new to EIRR?  If you need any tips or pointers, look me up, I'm on vent usually all the time.  And of course, a lot of people would be glad to sit down and help you.

Aye, TBA means they haven't implemented anything for that doctrine choice yet.

As for your company setup, you can change that anytime you want. After every battle you'll also have to buy new units to replace the ones you lost. This doesn't mean losing a unit means you lose the resources spent on it, you get those back if the unit dies. So if you'd spent every resource to 0 and played a game where the only unit to die was a rifleman squad without upgrades, you'd then have 190 manpower and still 0 fuel and munitions available to buy for. Then you could buy the rifleman squad anew, or use those resources to buy something else. If you ever want to get rid of a unit from your company, just drag it to the inkwell at the top right of the window to delete it and get the cost refunded.

This goes for resources, PP is a bit different. I don't know how much you've read up on the company building, but you have pools available for different kinds of units. You can only buy so many tanks, for instance, before your tank pool runs out. If you buy still more tanks, it comes from the reserve pool. Similarly for infantry, support and vehicles. If the reserve pool runs out, you start paying PP (which you earn from playing games and also spend to buy doctrine choices and vet/offmap uses etc). These PP are lost if the units die. So if you spend the entire infantry and reserve pool on infantry, and then add another rifleman squad (1 pool cost), you need to pay 1 PP. If you lose any infantry at all in a battle and rebuy it afterwards, you need to pay another 1 PP.
