fuck war and its fake ass patriotic, nationalistic, propagandized, defending the country bull shit...
your terrorist vs my freedom fighter... or... eeny meeny miny defend the empire, fatherland, motherland, homeland by attacking such n such...
or defending my freedoms from a country who has no possibility of even threatening it from 6000 miles away? what a joke

war is for dumbasses...

this about sums it up...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Rlqjxst6xU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDkhzHQO7jY&feature=related

"Education is a weapon whose effects depend on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed."
"This war is not as in the past; whoever occupies a territory also imposes on it his own social system,
everyone imposes his own system as far as his army can reach."
"I consider it completely unimportant who in the party will vote, or how; but what is extraordinarily important is this—who will count the votes, and how."
"Ideas are more powerful than guns. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas?"
"The death of one man is a tragedy, the death of millions is a statistic."

and yet the war drums keep beating to the inevitable carnage of WW3...

Unfortunately war is also a necessity until everyone agrees to play by the same rules. So until you can force humanity all into the same mold and force them to work together, you will have it.

As for no threats to us from 6000miles away, its a quick trip by air or sea to the US. It's happened before, its happened to many other countries. Then again, you would probably say "well, there is nothing to be done about it, we should just ignore terrorism".

Overfreeze, the war in Iraq was a continuation of the war from 1991, the war in Afghanistan has nothing to do with oil. The war in Iraq has to do with oil in a pretty simple manner, in 1991 they invaded Kuwait for the oil fields, and were planning a push into Saudi Arabia to capture their oil fields, giving them control of a vast majority of the worlds oil reserve. Basically, too much economic power in the hands of a rogue nation. It can't be allowed.

I don't intend to weigh in here, though a degree in military history would certainly prove useful if I were to do so.

Rather, I ask an admin lock this thread before it goes any further. The past is the past, and while we should not forget, I hate to see it cause arguments in the present between those who were not there to understand what happened.

Wars end in peace guys, let's not kick of an argument to spoil that.

And what a peace it was.

"This is not a peace! It is an armistice for 20 years!"

Sadly not far from the mark...

war isnt a necessity, its the inevitable outcome of dumbasses playing checkers with peoples lives for resources, power, control, influence, retaliation, etc.,
using propaganda, halve truths, lies, misdirection, deception or whatever means to manipulate the populace into supporting said war and dragging the people into it.

perfectly said in colin powells speech of bull shit lies to the UN.

iraq and afghan wars are illegal, and unjustified.(dont even bother using 911, what the fuck were the planes flying around for an hour and a half in the most defended airspace on earth, there is no evidence linking bin laden to 911 even on his most wanted poster issued by the fbi, 19 hijackers flying airplanes into buildings with boxcutters is a CONSPIRACY THEORY, by the way, how many were from saudi arabia, and how many of them ARE STILL ALIVE?)

terrorism, or what has been commonly claimed as such recently, muddies the water to who really are the terrorists...

STOP FUCKING WITH AND IN OTHER PEOPLES COUNTRIES...the US is and has been brewing up terrorism by its foreign policies for how long?
why do you think assloads of people around the world call the US the great satan? war is terrorism, so are cia sponsored coups and dictators, overthrows of governments, economic embargos, etc.. exactly what i mean, the US has been acting like a terrorist regime since the aftermath of WW2.
even by any other name, a pile of shit, is still a pile of shit...

iraq and afghanistan are directly related to oil and opium, transport pipelines and strategic partnerships/economic future control with china/india and russia.
vast untapped resources are in pakistan and afghanistan with corporations just waiting to be allowed in to exploit those lands.
its called pre-emptive full-spectrum dominance, check out "project for new american century".
the iraq situation has far more to do with than just a continuation of desert storm, they invaded cause kuwait was slant drilling, and the US didnt have a problem with saddam invading until they did, as Saddam asked the US. kuwait and the US just got done supporting iraq in the iran-iraq war, giving military supplies AND WMD'S.

how many millions of iraqi deaths in the last two decades for the sake of one saddam hussein?

when was the last time the states were invaded?     by the federal government.....

some people watch too much brainwashing tv...

wow you're a fucking moron.

full of fucking idiotic opinions arent you....

Praetorian watches too much Michael Moore crap =)

Yea, never you mind that Saddam and his regime were terrible, or that the Taliban was terrible. How about this Praetorian, go live there if you think its such a great place to be. My suggestion is you move to the middle east.

fuck off with your pointless posts...
typical americans at their finest resorting to insults and name calling, thinking they actually represent true americans, when they only represent the cult-ure...
another point proved, with the two wasted posts above.
just refute it or shut up.
the cia helped put saddam into power, they also funded the taliban/mujahideen. cause and effect morons.
so since the US has done these things, you can go there and represent your so-called country and its two faced policies.
create a problem, then act as the savior providing solutions, with all the little people ignoring the big ass elephant in the room, the real problem.

Praetoria where you from?

earth.

Wow, yea, sucks to arm people so they can keep their country. Too bad they turned on their own people. You know why we armed the people we did? Because nobody else was going to fight for that country.

Saddam was helped into power as a counter for Iran, until he became a liability. Get over it, who do you think maintains the status quo? The first world, and its superpowers. Why? Because that's how you keep things pretty stable, and stability is good for everyone.

I don't think I called you a name? I said, if you think those places are so great, you should move there. Then see how you like it. Women not allowed to go to school? Oh yea, that's great! No functioning government? Awesome!

Many countries like to talk about how they are "working" to make the world a better place, when in reality all they do is donate a small portion of the GDP and say "we're helping", never mind that it rarely does. Yea you drop in supplies to 3rd World nations, that are then snatched up by the warlords who continue to let people starve, all because you are afraid to get your hands dirty.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.
