They'll almost never hit through smoke, for instance. And they love to miss nebel/88/vierling crewmembers.

and almost everytime you have to bring the squad into harms way to fire with it. I dont find recons all that uber tbh. Especially since say like kch still take two shots some officers takes 2-3 shots etc. it's really onlyh good against your basic infantry and against support weapons. Other than that, they're just support troops who dont really do a lot of damage

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

tym, honestly, the biggest problem I have with recon sections is that they can find mines.

why? do you have a problem that pz grens can find mines the exact same way with no cost, all you gotta do is get close and stand still? lets see, engies, 10 muni for mine sweeper, pios 10 muni, brits, 70 and 45, and for the 70 you're able to clear mines, drop a mine and plant a demo yes but if you dont want to do all that and just clear mines, you gotta pay 70 munis, and for the recon, they can only detect mines and then they gotta put themselves into harms way by firing at it , which btw i witness in my last game how periless that is because one got close toa firecracker and cleared it, got stunned and the p4's coaxiel and .50 cal raped it before it even fired a shot it got so low on health so yeah...it's really not that big of a deal.

honestly, yes, I believe finding mines should be limited to (essentially) non-combat units like minesweeper pios/engies/kettens/schwimms.  I don't think its a good idea for mainline combat units to be able to find mines...
