I definantly miss the old Attack/Defend style and the way you build your company without having any limits for what you put in your army.
It felt so awsome when I once played as axis attack and suddenly this note popped up.
Possible Early Axis Airborne deployments.
I felt "Awww" I really want the sectors back so that we can fight to win or lose the battles and everytime territory count runs out battles end and all is reset

Because a forum post should be like a woman's skirt. Long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.

Nostalgia makes things better then they actually were.
Agreed. I'm a realist and remember a lot of things I couldn't stand about the old EIR. The thing is alot of you are probably saying you miss EIR because when we had the origina EIR there was nothing else to compare it to but now since we have the old EIR and other mods to compare it to it's easy to critisize things that we dont like now cuz we have something to compare it to but lets see
Old EIR - no brits no pe, no updates, 130 mp rifles, instant suppression vet 3 double lmg grens that were nearly unkillable....unsuppressable kch, airborne blobs, no way to retreat support crews, no way to tell what you were going up against unless you knew the player or he was in the top 20 list no cap on anything....that includes units, and resources. you wanted 70 rifles in your company and thats it? you could have it! um lets see, 2500-500 territory matches which 1 out of 10 were axis dominated and the last one was allied dominated until towards the end when axis got their T4's and tied it up and then took the lead. Salan screwing up the prices lol stug spam...(worse than p4 spam...) unkillable tigers (bring it up, bang a few allied units, run it back, repair with two repair bunkers and a pio and run it back in to fight, wash, rinse, repeat) I could go on, I haven't gone into raid assault, axis support spam, obm, tank + superior command, air superiority, heat rounds, king tigers, volk spam, ranger spam, sniper spam, mine spam, etc etc etc....
i definitely do not miss the Old EIR, viva la EIRR!

"I have proof!"
"Whatever, I'm still right"
Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

You could look on the website the doctrine of the players on your game back in vEiR.

Oh wow, yay you could look at the doctrine. I'm talking about record, their level, you get that now. You can go into a game now and tell the level of competition you're facing, you couldn't do that back then, God i can't tell you how many stomps I walked into unknowingly.

What should be brought back from old eir is the territory system. ME and R mode suck. Bring back the set attack/defend senarios!

OLD EIR for me meant
- No retreating
- No Launcher
- Resource rewards for victories
- No Doctrines
- No Restrictions
Are we talking about the same fun game? All the top players had companies with multiple Tigers, Panthers, STuGs and in-numerable infantry; it was madness to play someone who had won more than 5 games in a row.

I somewhat miss EiR.. I have a lot of un-read PM's and haven't logged into the site for the betterpart of half a month or more.
Of course I have my reasons, which greatly include this... (notice the awesome relic Tshirt)
Congratulation Salan,
That is an exciting new addition to your life. Good luck papa!!

I can honestly say nothing in that whole list bothered me, and I miss much of it. They aren't unkillable tigers. They are tigers that come back if you were stupid and fail to kill them
Makes skill important. I'm not goign to go down the list and say why all of that wasn't a problem. There were a few bugs that needed fixing, like the oversupply and assault bugs, but the flow of gameplay was better. It was also possible to win with a new company, and have a decent company in less than 10 games. No Brits and no PE (but mostly no Brits) was one of the most appealing things to me about the old EiR. CoH sucked dick with those 2 factions in.

Can you cite your source, Akra?
Was it done by an outside party, such as a firm that would give accurate and non-biased readings?

Where is Sadanarka based? Australia?
Could I have a link to their website?
