They all need to be added to the module. Any comments about sectoring go to me (I'll update them if there's any problems) and all compliments about the maps go to Whiteflash!

that's great

I only wish that I'd actually find a game where people would want to PLAY the maps in stead of playing the same maps over and over again Sad

The map with the chateau in the middle and lots of hedgerows has a broken sector towards the middle of the map.  It won't cap at all.  It actually makes the map pretty broken since the team starting from the top constantly has to go all the way to the left in order to keep capping if they wish to push up on the middle or left side of the map.  An aggressive capping team can easily keep the north team at bay as long as they keep sending squads to decap the sectors, forcing the north team to disperse their forces to find cappers and recap sectors (which takes a long time since the map is so big).  Also, this loss of a sector means that if the north team doesn't control the 4 sectors in the middle of the map where the chateau is, they can start losing pop really quickly.

The other map I played is the one that is completely flat save for a small town on the side of the map.  I think it needs more shotblocking.  If you have an ATG or MG on the field on this map, and you get flanked, all you have to do is turn it in a different direction.  No repositioning needed since the map is so flat.  Also this map is humongous.  It might be better off as a 3v3 map.

I haven't tried the 3rd map yet.  Sorry I can't name the maps I played off the top of my head.  I haven't played them enough to remember.

Played with Fallen on the 'flat map' I enjoyed it(I did win though so theres a bias) It is pretty open. There is so little shot blocking which suits vCoH. I like the layout of the map for EiRR, I didn;t notice any sectoring faults on this one, but then again it was pretty intense past the first 5 mins so i never got to look around. A few more shot blocking features or maybe some green cover around would help survivability a bit

Also you guys had about 4 mgs and 4 paks to supplement grens and PIVs, which, combined with the flatness of the map, ruined my attempts with the kangaroos  Smiley

Took a look at the Chateau map (Le Paradis) and everything looks normal. Which sector exactly is it?

As far as the very open map (Alsace Moselle) I may release a 3v3 version of it, but I'm not really comfortable making any gameplay changes to it. I'll see what Whiteflash says.

Imo, the map that looks best for this style gameplay is going to be Kurland Pocket, the one you guys haven't played yet :p.

Not sure if you can see it.  I'm pretty sure it was that sector that couldn't be capped in both games that I played on it.  I'll try to play another on this map later tonight to check again.

I like Alsace personally. It doesn't really need any shot blocking, there's quite a bit of it tbh, maybe a building or two towards hte middle or some hedges or whatever but other wise, i liked playing on it. In the game i played the only person who didn't like it was a non mobile (few vehicles) player who support spammed, so made sense he didn't like it lol its not good for support spam but very good dfor infantry and vehicle heavy companies but thats like most maps, they dont cater to all types most of the time usually 2 of the 3 main playstyles can be happy on it.

I still think that map is too big for a 2v2 mainly because it takes too long for one player to go over and help his teammate if they're fighting on separate flanks.  For example in that game that you're talking about Tym, I was holding you off well on the left with my whole army but then I had to disperse my army to go help my teammate.  That gave you an opportunity to push against me when I was at less than full force, which made us lose part of our map control.  I was running a support company, though, so I can't be sure if the same thing would have happened for a non-support company.  However, when I think of a good 2v2 map (Nuenen or Crossroads or Gold Sector come to mind) it is usually large enough so that there is room for maneuverability and flanking yet small enough so that each player can easily go over and help the other and coordinate pushes without having to completely abandon one side of the map.

Oh well, guess I'll just have to try the maps out more tomorrow.

Here's a formula for converting vcoh maps to EIR maps.
1v1 vcoh maps = 2v2 EIR maps
2v2 vcoh maps = 3v3 EIR maps
3v3 vcoh maps = 4v4 EIR maps
4v4 vcoh maps = fail.

Square 1vs1 maps generally don't make for good 2vs2 maps.
Heck, square maps in general rarely make for good EIR maps.

Case in point - Bocage, Tanteville.
