Favorite General in History

I'm curious to know what general everyone admires in history. Which general do you feel is the best, or changed history the most?
My favorite General in history is the American General Winfield Scott.
Winfield Scott was an amazing general in the war of 1812 and the Mexican American war. Everyone knows how the war of 1812 was very contested and not as exciting as others, but the Mexican American war was the most successful war in American history. It led to the acquisition of all the land from Texas to California. The Mexican American war was also the most successful war in American history from a military perspective. the United States won almost every single battle and had less casualties than the war in Iraq. Winfield Scott was always a solid tactician, but he was different from Napoleon in the fact that he knew that in the 1800s, war was changing. He knew that capturing a capital doesn't guarantee total victory. During the very beginning of the American Civil War, President Lincoln asked Winfield Scott to be a general for the Union army, but Scott declined. He did, however, provide lincoln with the strategy that the union needed to win the war.
Scott knew that the traditional musket volley/charge up the center strategy from Napoleon would be a "recipe for slaughter" in the Civil war. Guns were now rifled and extremely accurate now. He told Lincoln that to win the war he needed to 1: take the Mississippi river, blockade the southern ports, and surround and choke the confederate army, the "anaconda plan." The reason why I picked Winfield Scott is because he KNEW what it really takes to win a war in the modern era. To this date, officers at West Point look at many generals in history for tactical information, especially Winfield Scott. He may not be Alexander, but he's a great general.
PS: I didn't know this until i researched it. Did you know before he recommended the Anaconda plan, Scott told Lincoln that to win the war he needed Robert E Lee from the Confederate army. Lincoln sent a letter to Lee asking him to be a General in the Union army, and Lee considered it! Lee was against slavery but his heart lied with Virginia, his home state. Virginia is the real reason why Lee didn't command the Union army. WOW

Hannibal. Easily the greatest general of all time, since he was pretty much the first in developing so many tactics and fighting battles where was both outnumbered, out supplied and fighting better trained troops.

Hannibal is a great choice. There are many generals that are awesome, but there's always one that just gets your attention. Hannibal is one of those generals. Great commander.

Erwin Rommel is mine
brilliant tactician for his time and was one of the first to create new tactics for armored warfare and tactics of deception to force his enemies to flee or be defeated, also a man who did not believe in what his country was standing for, in the end opposed the Nazi regime to the point his was given the choice of suicide or tried as a enemy of the state.
sad story of a great general.

Jesus was by far the best general ever he did some jesusy stuff and made loads of fish and chips from like saliva some rocks and cheese. He also made turned a river or sea or some shit like that into wine so all the enemy could get wasted and he would own them with suicide children and bore them with Phrophet shit.

Genghis Khan, conquered from the Pacific to Poland in his own lifetime. Started with nothing, literally nothing. Once his empire reached a certain size I guess he stopped being a general really, but created paper bank notes, a banking system, a postal system, a freedom of religion.
Anyway, probably one of the most influential people in history, and one of the greatest generals/leaders the world has seen.

Gustavus Adolphus, King of Sweden.
He was the pretty much the most important protestant field commander in the thirty years war, he won many battles and was respected by his soldiers, he also innovated light artillery to be used in field battles instead of just sieges.
Because of his brilliant victories Europe isn't all catholic.

My name is
Maximus Decimus Meridius
, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.
