That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

I'm not sure if I should interpret 'very soon' in Valve time or Disney time

You mean like Nebelwerfers and MG42s?

Three "cool toys" the axis don't get :

Tigers, King Tigers and 88s.

Honestly, if you want double shreks - go blitzkrieg and spam stormtroopers. Shrekspam is boring.

HMG's are esswntial for every faction(which is why PE got the shaft) My WM company has 5 HMG's my old American company had 6 HMG's and my brits had 3 Vickers MMG(suppression fire is sexy)

Nebels are a good axis toy, but HMG's are universal, the 42 may be better but they are all needed.

I used to think PE could get along without suppression tools(they have a few and G43 slow works well) but after playing WM again for a few straight macthes HMG's are just too good to ignore

I offer the complete removal of HMGs on all factions for a period of time, just to prove that HMGs are NOT essential to ANY faction, PE needing it the least.

what do you use to stop a ultima british blob or ultima ab/ranger/rofl blob?

You only need BARs to stop any blob axis tosses in

What's an MG gonna help against a riflenade blob with smoke, anyhow?

All of those "ultimate" blobs can be easily fought off with a single well-used P4.

Good luck using BARs to beat any axis blob.. Ask cannonball how his BARs fare against my volks army Tongue(damn you and your spawnbuff sherman!) xD.

hmmm, 3 pop cheap HMG or 12 pop expensive PzIV.
Not exactly a fair comparison whatsoever.

I'll agree HMGs are not essential but they're very cost effective and play a key aspect in the unique COH gameplay. PE can do fine without imo, but nonetheless I'm looking forward to the addition of the Scout Car mg42 upgrade.

I'm not, it's going to be OP as all hell.

2 squads, one with grenades can and will beat the HMG, if we imagine that the one using the infantry attempts to flank, uses fire-up or smoke(if rifle-grenades). Not to mention the P4 will beat pretty much anything lighter than a pershing Tongue.

I don't disagree HMGs are great at blob suppression - it's what they're made for. But saying it's "all you can do" against a blob is blatantly preposterous - there's other, far more cost(if not pop) efficient counters out there.

I beg to differ, you'll see. No point in theorycrafting.

Obviously HMGs are not the only option in the face of blobs, and some blobs can't be stopped by a single HMG (It wouldn't make sense if a single HMG COULD stop any blob now would it) but overall HMGs are a desirable cornerstone of one's army. For me personally, I've run US and Brit companies without any HMGs and done fine, I can imagine Wehr companies doing fine without HMGs as well but from my personal experience I would conclude that (at least as wehrmacht) you're making it harder (increased micro intensity etc) on yourself if you don't use HMGs.

yes p4 is really to only thing and green cover falls are ur most viable options vs allied blob.
also KCH and Stormies if the charge u in cover.

hmg are only good for closing off a flank or pinning ur opponet and sending in assualt troops to clean up the rest, if u want a hmg that kills blobing fast play omg mod.

Not to mention the P4 will beat pretty much anything lighter than a pershing Tongue.

tru that but sherman beats everything apart from tiger, kt and it can kill a panther with legendary micro

same with cromwell

I believe they got some modifiers that make the hmg have better accuracy vs blobs. That is if they have it implemented.

HMG vet increases the incremental accuracy (at OMG).

I'm one of the few who have indeed beaten a panther with a Sherman while the Panther was actually being used by a competent player(it's even been shoutcasted). I have to say, that it took far more than just legendary micro to pull it off - including a sticky bomb and a very very convenient hedgerow. Suffice to say - a Sherman beating a panther needs some extreme luck, about the same kind of luck as you would need to beat a greyhound with just a dual LMG squad... It's possible, but unlikely.

Incremental Accuracy. Implemented not only in OMG, but also in EiRR and vCoH. Used not only on HMGs, but LMGs and pretty much the majority of automatic weapons. I think panzerman was thinking about BoTB or Blitzkrieg...

Oh, and you're sadly mistaken if you think HMGs don't kill - they damn right do Wink.
