Lionel, I think you should tone it down just a bit - the claim of two jagds defeating 4 AP rounding ATGs while there were also a pair of upgun shermans nibling away is simply... wrong, unless we consider the ABSOLUTE BEST dicerolls. Considering the AP rounds didn't even once penetrate, and each jag shot hit, without any 5 HP bugs(I don't even have to do maths to know the chance of this is much less than 1 in a milion), this is what would of happened, in a timeline.
--------Start Timeline-----------
Opening engagement :
4 ATGs and 2 upguns fire volley. All shots deflect.
Total damage : 4*93.75 + 2*13.125 = 401.25 damage.
Double jagds fire a volley. Both shots hit and insta-gibbed one ATG.
4 seconds
3 ATGs fire off a volley. All shots deflect.
Total damage : 3*93.75 = 281.25 damage. Total of 682.5 damage.
6 seconds
Double Shermans fire a volley. Both shots hit and get deflected.
2*13.125 = 26.25
Total damage of 708.75
Double Jagds fire a volley. They both hit and kill an AT gun.
8 seconds
Double ATGs fire standard ATG volley. Both shots hit and get deflected.
150 damage dealt.
Total damage of 858.75
12 seconds
Double ATGs and Double Shermans fire volley. All shots hit and are deflected.
150+26.25 = 176.25
Total damage of 1035
Double jagds fire and kill an ATG.
16 seconds.
ATG fires and hits. Deflect.
1035+75 = 1110 damage total.
18 seconds.
Double shermans fire and hit. Deflected.
26.25 damage.
1136.25 damage total.
Double Jagds take out the last AT gun.
Jagds pull back cackling evilly.
-------------End timeline------------
Now, contrary to what most of us would of believed - this is in fact a POSSIBLE scenario. Considering the jagds ALWAYS hit and the ATGs and shermans NEVER penetrate.
Let us imagine for a second, that this engagement happened in a complete plain, at 40 range, with the ATGs and shermans huddled together, so no flanking shots to accidentally hit the rear. These would be the chances of :
AP rounds ATGs bouncing : 19% to bounce with each AT gun. The chance of just all 4 initial AT guns bouncing is 0.13%. The chance of missing for the AT gun is 10 percent at this range, but with the huge hitbox of the jag, even missed shots will hit.
Upgun Shermans bouncing : 67.8% to bounce with each sherman shot. The chance to bounce the total of 8 sherman shots in this engagement is 4.47%. 25 percent chance of missing for the shermans, but with the hitbox of the jag, even missed shots will hit.
Jagdpanther hitting an AT gun : 37.5%. So a 62.5% chance to miss with each jag shot. The chances of all 8 jag shots hitting their target during the engagement : 0.04%.
So even now, without even calculating the rest of the ATG shots, or the chance of 5 HP bugs(which weigh in at a 25 percent chance) we have this probability of :
0.000000023244
That is 7 zeros behind that point. So the chance in terms people will understand is this :
1 in 5 million. So in the next 5 million games starring double jagds fighting 4 AP rounds ATGs and 2 upgun shermans, do not fear - it won't happen again. I'm guessing 5 million games starring exactly that combination far outlives the lifespan of EiRR, considering there's only been around 10 million games of CoH and all it's mods played thusfar.
You cant experiment in EIR. You experiment, you die.
You MAY want to rethink that mate. Look at my W/L ratios across the board, I'm on the leaderboard on all 4 factions. I think it's safe to say I'm one of the most experimenty guys in the mod, together with David(shockcoil) and a few others who also happen to have great W/L ratios. Wanna guess what brought about the dreaded RT spam of the last patch? Experimenting.
