Honestly, this giving special units to people for quite random reasons is personally getting on my nerve. Especially when it is unexplained to the public, and later on these units are also used out of their intended line of usage(for instance in actual games)... It simply gives off a sence of elitism, and that is not a good thing.

why shouldnt u reward ur long term members for helping out the mod, ur only gonna make them grow stale toward the mod and eventually fuck off. theyre the roots of the mod and theyre the people who bring others into the mod to play. if your not gonna give them an early taster of anythin or reward them in anyway then we might aswell all fuck off and play every once a year cos ur expecting 1 guy to test every single unit. if u involve more 'special units' in real situations they can report back and tell u the problems, no wonder the patching takes so long u expect 1 guy to manage everything and it becomes a burden on him.

I'm not sure, but i think it might be better, when we use new Units for PR-Video making reasons only in 1v1 games, between each other, for a perfect environment, without the public.
The reward units are something else and should be left alone. People got them for a reason.

I dont know Baine, I prefer making movies in real fighting atmosphere. I couldn't ever imagine making a video like Tanteville in a fake played game.
It's like you have to choose between real footage, or crappy actors, which one would you take?
Besides, you tell people before the game that you have the units, if there is a major disagreement on the enemy team in terms of wanting to fight them I would remove them.

Then after the game you make a brit company and that unit is nowhere to be found.

You can't compare "Tanteville" with a Unit showcase video. Tanteville shows a cool fight, a unit showcase video just has to show the unit perform. And that's what you can do in a 1v1 aswell. And with that i don't mean "send all your weak units at my supercool unit!" games. You can either play a real 1v1, just like you would in vcoh or just stage some scenes  I understand what Mysthalin and Wildsolus mean and i have the same opinion. The reward units are already enough elitism. My 2 cents. |
