Wrong. It puts the games back to the 60 min and more mark. I like having short games at 40 mins a 2v2 or 3v3, with 4v4 being the exception with up to 1 hour and a half usually.

I remember it, when everyone had his repairblob, drive back, blob repair, enemy does the same, 5 mins nothing happens. Rinse, repeat.

If hes back repairing you should overpower him/his allies and gain the advantage.........

You don't seem to remember how the reality looked like.

Repairbunkers in the back, protected by paks and mgs inside and even more infantry. Tiger drives back, voila.

And everyone would use the extra 2 mins just to get the tank from a scratching in the paint job from 80% back to 100% ... "just in case".

Well the question was in general, if they prefer units repairing or repair kits, ofc the old way wasnt perfect and needed modified like omg has done.

the new system is better if it did nothing but stop repair cities and RR drops in the backfield.

Only thing EIRR has worse than EIR is that it has to deal with a number of OF/ToV units which are fucking retarded.

I am an Allied armor player, I am an axis Blitz player.  The majority of my armies is based off of vehicles and armor in general.  I think everyone can agree with my love of vehicles, Including my Cromwells, Fireflies, or Stags on brits.

The current repair system.  Works as intended and works perfectly.  You can now attrition a tank, the same way you can attrition an infantry squad that uses triage or medics to heal.  A tank will not be on the field the whole fucking game unless used properly.  Using the armor in situations to break through a line has its consequences.  IF i use my armor to attempt a flank and i am caught, Even if i get away, no guarantee i can repair it...  It costs per vehicle to repair, So i don;t want to  bull rush a unit with no more repairs left.  It require better micro, More strat., and more thinking.

The repair system taks a brain to use it.

Here is what i remember, and i ran tigers, or armor company every war sicne my very first.

I remember 3 man engineers taking 3 pop cap and repairing 0.66 a sec and 2 pop cap Repair bunkers that were automatic and stacked and 2 pop cap Pios on axis repairing for 0.66hp/sec.
so 2 blitz player with 1 pio on a tank 1 repair bunker each was 1.88hp/sec.  Meaning all vehicles were just repaired insanely fast.  Pop an MG in the bunker, hav an ostwind or a puma near by to go to ab and it was easy to defended it.

the same tiger and Kts and Panthers would be used.  IF the tanks and vehicles were not killed early it was game over.

Thats the bull shit i remember, then when onboard mechanics was at liek 0.50hp/sec and stacked with a engi squad the axis complained, the allies complained about repair bunkers.

Then came Bergtiger...  TIGER ARMOR... meaning it bounced at shells to the front... And would be used to run over infantry or block vehicles and then be able to be repaired and stay in the fight as an infantry runner over that could not die.... at least not quickly, and repair all tanks for 1hp/sec.  And the Advanced sappers that if they had repair kits for Brits, can;t have piats making them insanely weak.... repairing the same.

All of this being said, Massive imbalances occurred, Huge arguments ensued, bullshit being spouted on all sides.

Sudden;y a new purchasable repair system came out, I hated it at first, i thought it was shit, i told Lucifer to go to hell and the mod was turning to shit and left for a week or 2 or 3.  I came back and played and when i used it i hated it... But the more i played people i found it balanced to need for massive at to be on field at all times.  If you could damage tanks, suddenly you could take them out of the fight without the need for killing them, wasting your army to try to run down a panther thats sniping your allied stuff from a  mile away all day long.  Or the OBM pershings which every axis, including myself dreaded.  Or better yet Choas running OBM crocs that never died and did drive by flammings...

This system... Allows for teir abilities to improfve on whats there and be used in multiple ways.  it does nto require support, so you can leave a tank alone, Engine dmg and such is VERY  usefull and if used properly can cripple an armor company, i used improperly you can be fucked by trying to hard.

So far, I give it a massive thumbs up and don;t see much room for improvement.  A front armor dmg engine just means you need to pay more attention, fight on and not get fucked and repair it at some point.

Since this is a repair thread thats all i will comment on, but overall... I remember the old days... I rember alot of them, not as many as unknown but a whole hell of alot...  I rember playing Enkara that web based game for a bit with everyone too and even thatturned into a cluster fuck lol.

In the end, Th launcher is an improvment, it does lag, Welcome to things that have to computer a hell of a wlot.  Phils was awsom, this one is an upgrade.  The game play has gotten alot more stratigic, No more massive bum rushes winning battles...

The one thing i wish was back was the massive battles.  Those huge armies of Defensive vs infantrya and me trying to kill them all., They were fun on occasion, but got tiresome when you were out attributioned by tons of inf.  lol.

another thing to consider when using units to repair vehicles is this.

a 1 man sapper squad repairs as fast as a 4 man sapper squad. so if you bring on a sapper squad you don't take any punishment for say, recrewing an ATG, and leaving the one sapper by himself. or you could run your engs and pios let some of them get killed, and just have 1 man repair squads in the very back.

its easy to forget the bad things about the old repair system when you haven't used it in awhile.
