I will not name names in this post.

I was completely sickened by the disgusting action of some of the members of this community tonight. One of the members was a dev.....

I joined 3 new members to this mod. 3 new members from OMG. I had hoped to show them a great experience in this mod. Instead, the allies created a stack, To their credit, they had one new member..... A very seasoned veteran of omg, but new to EiR.

They opened with 3 Pershing. They completely overrun the new players in matter of seconds. The new players commented how fucked this mod was.......

These EiR players took advantage of new players and in turn, have completely disgraced this mod...... I did not ever expect this kind of behavior from a Dev.

Granted, I dont condone the actions of the allied team at all, but it's not like i go to OMG and complain about the rampant doom forts they have over there then judge their mod on that.

You have misunderstood me
They were not yelling and complaining about the mod. They were just very surprised at the bullshit. Do not turn this into a EiR versus OMG thread, That is not the point AT ALL.

This thread is only about the disgusting actions of EiR members and a dev....

I usually tend to go easy on new guys until they show that they're pretty tough..heck i went easy once and got my friggin vet 2 tiger killed by an m18, guy showed real nice Micro for a guy used to vCoh.

I can see all sides of the argument here, I say shame on the vets who decided to bash a bunch of new guys but at the same time, Tank did you inform the allies that you were playing with noobs?

Don't Flame - Flaming is the act of attacking another member of the community, this just isn't on. This is too small of a community to start witch hunts or force members out of the community.

Respect - Showing some respect for your fellow forum members and the entire Europe in Ruins development team isn't hard to do. Remember, you didn't pay any money to fldash or the rest of his team for this mod. It's all their free time and hard work; so show those guys some respect.

I can aswell, this is not the kind of impression we want to give new players at all.

This however is not a normal occurrence (the 3 persh start) - but an unfortunate side effect of only having a few unlocks instead of progressive doctrines.
Each player was able to create the persh start, no doubt through conversation.

Okay so you got rolled by some players, one of them was a dev, and you had a team of new players. You found this to be offensive and wish to hear an apology for their unforgiving tactics.

Well, that might be pretty close, but what he is trying to say is that by stomping (Cause from what I've seen it was a stomp, the game was 4 axis vs nothing and 1 min later suddenly all the allies joined) new guys, you are kind of ruining their intro.

To be honest, I myself find that I can be very calm, I bitch about stuff to myself and gibber about it on vent (specially vet loss) But I ain't one to get real pissed at a stomp or whatsoever, however. I've seen people get really pissed off by stomps. Now if you stomp 3 new guys it's a very, very crappy intro to EiR:R, discouraging further playing of the mod.

What he is trying to say is that the stomping players, specially the dev., should have realised that the one time fun of the stomp, which they could have done in any game, is in no way equal and comparable by the joy for all of us for 3 new players.

Basicly, he is saying next time you see new guys, don't be an ass and go stomp them but be nice and go easy on them, if necesairy help them after the map to get them to understand the game better.

This should be known to casual players and specially developers, thus the reason that Tank is so pissed off...

The fact that you then posted that he was acting as a "little girl" while he was trying to get the stompers to realise what they have done (be it while he was venting his frustation, making it look like a rage post) made him less than happy, specially with his already bad mood, this escaladed.

PS: might want to add that since I only see tanks post and not know the full story, I don't want to give my opinion about this, my post is mainly what I've seen here and how I interpretend it.
I do not condemn nor blame anyone here, though I must say that a thinking before acting is something all sides could have done here.

Stomps are... stomps... they've been around as long as I have if not since the beginning of the mod... to have any number noob players on a team (by noob I mean to EiR) is to invite such a stomp though I gotta say... never heard of a stealth stomp before (back when I first started off only the first game was surprising but after a while I knew who stacked massively in their favor and tended to avoid them like the plague). I am not saying its right what the dev and the other allied players did but I am saying that it was inevitable that those new players you brought tank would be given a baptism of shit (by that I mean a 2-3 calliope point blank salute, 3 pershing start, church croc/sherman croc start, etc) such as this... maybe not the first game and maybe not the second either but eventually the win ratio pros will sniff out the fresh meat and thoroughly stack a game against them.

PS: On such events when I happen to fight a stack with a pair of noobs I just pop out my griefer company and let the noobs know not to waste units, you stack me I make you bleed  .

i remember when my first game was played it was the old EiR and i got completely obliterated. I found it kind of rediculous. then learned i was stacked. Then learned thats how EiR is played. 3/4ths of all games are stacked. I've learned bitching gets you ripped apart. So you dig in and try some rediculous Bullshit and deal with it.

You're a noob, you join a game, any game. You lose.

You're still a noob, you're wary of games with people who beat you or ones that are not partially filled.

Your mediocre. You can identify a stack and know who to avoid.

You think you're good but still get raped by clear Pro's You challenge stacks.

You think you're Pro when really you aren't. You create stacks.

You are Pro. You find the only challenge is an equal skill game or a counter stack to watch them make excuses to not play you.
