I'm a bit of a Napoleon era fan-boy (especially Marshal Ney and Jomini), but I doubt I'll get it until it's a bit cheaper. Only got Empire when it came on to a deal a month ago.

Empire total war was shit tbh, they make shit too complex, and i prefered inf charging into each other, standing in a line firing isnt my idea of fun, back to roman times!

I'm really hoping that one day they go for the 'Coup de grace' and make Civilization Total War, which basically plays through from Early Egyptian, Babylonian and Summerian type era through to the end of the 20th Century.

I know it's take forever to play (maybe a scaled turn period relative to the era as with Civ IV (50s of years at start, then 20s, then 10s, then 2, and finally 1s coming into the late renaissance?), there'd be upwards of a million unit types and endless scripting to prevent the player nation from becoming the dominant force in the world before the Greeks even get as far as Democracy (needless to say technology would have to go back to the old ways and be pretty much period specific), but imagine the endless possibilities on world history if the French never became united in the Middle Ages, or if Britain never colonised the new world. Imagine the effect that would have in the Napoleonic era?

Basically, I'm advocating 'Rhye's and Fall of Civilization' in the Total War engine here.

The campaign is actually really fun to play, and very heavily combat oriented. The multiplayer is very fun, but most servers are like "no fixed arty" because it's actually good. I love it.

Napoleon Total War is loads of fun.

Recently I've been trying to unlock some minor factions and this is what I've come with:

Filefront

Replace startpos.esf file in [...]\napoleon total war\data\campaigns\mp_eur_napoleon directory.

(Strongly suggest renaming or save the original file, so you can revert)

The file will basically let you play as either Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Spain in the campaign of Coalition (sp), or Europe campaign (mp).

Would love some input if someone actually bothers to try it out :p

Napoleon is the best total war game so far, And i have played all of them starting from rome total war. its like empires on crack 20 times better.
