Hi!

I been playing this mod since 2007, And I am the Famus Duck. The one and only.

I have not played for a year and just started again, eaven tho I still have mapped.
Some questions, why have the mod taken at step back?

When I left and came back:
  • All Doctrines in the luncher worked and where almost finished, now, they are all... Gone?
  • Many bugs have been added: Like Pak crew not auto running home
  • Staghounds, when I left they where good, they cost a bit but where great against infantry, now, they are better than a M10, why?
  • There where allot less players, its easy to get a game growing, Awesome!

What happen? Did we get hacked? Or was it that the mod was so close to "Finish" that the modders where sad that there was nothing to do? Also, even tho we have allot of new players and more people online in the luncher. The luncher is faster. Good job!

Still, the doctrines, it hurts... They where done... They where done!

We decided to completely redo the doctrines because there was a general consensus among the developers and the community that a lot of the abilities were blatantly overpowered and that the overall system could be improved significantly. The doctrine system and abilities we will be integrating these next few weeks are definitely a vast improvement over our old.

This *should* be the final doctrine rework Wink.

This is not a new bug, has been in ever since we removed cloaked paks from being able to move.
And it will be resolved next patch.

This is simply not true and I'm wondering what you're basing this off. Staghounds, with the mg upgrade, are amazing against infantry but that's about it. Comparing it to an m10 is just silly.

Welcome back btw

There is no question that Staghounds are a godsend against infantry. They are like Thor's Hammer - striking with fury from the heavens.

But they are completely different from an M10, not the least because both units fulfill a very different role. One is anti-armor, the other is anti-infantry and, to a lesser extent, anti-light vehicles.

The only hope a stag hound has of inflicting damage on a reasonable armored tank (note, I didn't say tank destroyer such as a marder or geshutz, or mobile assault gun such as a stug) is rear-damage. This can work vs a stug and it can do some damage to a p4/panther in this way (though unreliably due to poor penetration values), but there really is no comparison to a m10 in this role. The stag just does not have the firepower to be a reliable damage-dealer to medium armor.

i still do not understand why you removed the doctrines for a while, and then slowly adding the new doctrines.

why not 1st finish new doctrines and then step over at once?

Probably because the community as a whole was asking for doctrines back, so they gave in to the masses and released some for us.

Staghounds are retarded, if it were up to me they'd get a normal MG and become a normal light vehicle with normal light vehicle pricing.

And the cromwell would be turned into an ostwind like infantry rape machine.   That would at least make people want to use it more.

I hear all! Shocked

Well I think the brits need a strong anti-infantry vehicle badly.   The faction has weak MGs, nearly useless mortar, no sniper, no flamers, no grenades(not includiing commandos), it's main medium tank sucks balls, etc.

Staghound, as retarded as they are at the moment, is actually filling a void within the British faction.   So I would recommend changing the cromwell to an anti-infantry tank while putting the staghound back down to a normal light vehicle.

One thing that I love about the doctrines now is that instead of a player choosing to have a V1 and a KT, the player must choose which one to specialize in. This makes each player have a unique system and it balanced out the power so that one player will not have everything that the doctrine has to offer.

I think a player can have the V1 KT and firestorm. Since the standard doctrine tree is nonprogressive he can get 2 t3s and 1 t2. Assuming that the KT and V1 is t3 and firestorm being t2. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

croms are great anti infantry, as well as stags, more so with their hmg, tbh, if you just make it a normal hmg, it's just a Stuart with a .50 cal without canister shot. Now..what you could do is make it so it doesn't suppress as well keep the damage, take away the suppression, thats' what really gets you with that stag 50
