Can i get one too? you know it seems everyone and their moms seems to have one,so ya know i would like to use one too...just to level out the playing field  not a rage post or anything,but its a bit annoying. The devs need to do something about people using them and not saying anything. Also smurfing while using a dev acount wtf? |

They're made for testing doctrines. Everyone and their mom? There are only 5 test accounts active atm, used by 2-4 persons.

I believe all "test" accounts should only be used if the opposing team unanimously, and explicitly, agrees.
Frankly I don't mind if they get maxed out accounts as a reward for all their hard work (to play with as normal), but if it's a "test account" (with units/doctrine abilities that are otherwise unavailable to other players) that is involved... that is when the other team has to be fully willing or else it gets a little shady.

With "test" I meant, maxed account, not special abilities or units that aren't available to others. They should only be used against other test accounts. I'm sure you can find plenty of people willing to test it if you looked.
That looks good on paper only, it takes time to set up those accounts. And they'll also need to be erased after each game to avoid any kind of abuse, so no, it isn't viable. |

I think wind probably raises a fair point.
That being said, sometimes we have to try out builds/doctrines ourselves to be able to judge the balance situation ourselves and in the current system that would mean a little too much grinding :p. FYI few people use these test accounts, I don't have one for example. (I've been grinding armour doctrine since day 1!)

Why would I delete mine? I meant, if we start giving test accounts to anyone, we would have to delete them after they use them to avoid any kind of abuse. all it takes is 4 people to try out test accounts....and saying they need to be erased after each game is bullshit seeing how you have vetted pershings B)
I don't see how that changes anything, what's the difference with a T4 + T3 or a T4 + T3 some vet? |

Just an Idea;
How about when you need to use a test account, it is labeled as such. For example "Devtestacctkiller"
This would make it very obvious to the other players and eliminate their ability of accusing you of wrongful or unfair behavior.

All test account have 1337 draws, and the person using them ALWAYS ask everyone if they mind. I don't see how they can accuse you of abusing when you do that.

I personally don;t mind playing against the test devs. It's certainly one hell of a good fight, and I get a metric fuckton of XP/PP just for trying.

that's bullshit don't smurf its a test acount. Use your name its not ment to be use competatively you didn't even tell me that was a test acount you said nothing about it and ontop of it you were insulting us in the chat. What kind of dev behavior is that huh? Great dev team. |

Every member here raises good points about Dev Testing accounts, and I agree; developers shouldn't be using those types of accounts against regular players like yourselves. It puts you at a disadvantage when you have to earn every PP and victory where as a Test account simple doesn't have to win ever.
However, discussion about the topic shouldn't be turning into a mud fight, lets keep it clean and I'll continue to let you voice your concerns about the Test accounts.
