Request Replay - Rifle Training / M1 Carbines in Action
«

Any US Infantry players running this? If so, could you please post a replay with them in action? I would like to see how well Rifle Training works out, thinking of trying that out next time if I don't run Tank Reapers.
And has anyone tried out the Locked and Loaded too, out of curiosity?

I would love to see one from him then, have you ever been on the receiving end of Rifle Training, Smokaz? How does its damage compare to say BAR riflemen or SMG rangers? Was interested in it from the Lightning War thread.

I played old carabines, current T4 buff combined with officer and steady sights give a larger overall buff than the old +50% ever gave on its own.
And back then it was absolutely nothing I could think out in my head as to why people would go Reapers over carabines, especially since it buffed picked up weapons to shoot faster as well.
Pair this with the fact that you pay 0 munis for vastly improved firepower and you can spam your ass out of rifles, there's just nothing in the game like it. It really is the most powerful doctrine choice ever, in most situations.

I ran a M1 Carbine company and wasn't impressed with it like I am with tank reapers making bazookas from decent to pretty good now.
And don't forget now it does not affect any picked up weapons, so only M1s and starting BARs are affected (which can be captured by Germans who get buffed BARs now).
I'd love to have a test company to try out a mass vanilla ranger/rifle squad and compare their AI firepower, because with the new SMG package for rangers, I finally have a terrific anti-inf platform I can use and would like to see which would outform which.

The ranguurs are good, but you pay for them. As aloha points out, carabines allow you to massacre upgraded infantry with regular 190 mp rifles. Imagine all the 57mms and upgraded rangers you can buy on top of your rifleblob, when you dont pay for them lol.

I actually have a little more than enough MU for my company, but I can see your point.
Though one thing, taking upgrades reduces your T4 buff, like SMGs are not benefitting from Rifle Training, neither are the Grease Gun Riflemen or Thompson riflemen. It seems to me in order to best take advantage of that T4 you just can't be fielding upgrades other than things that are 'in your pocket' like stickies or nades, or maybe the occasional bazooka. But if the damage potential/difference is really all you make it out to be, I'd love to give it another shot again.
Oh and Smokaz, when you say upgraded infantry.. we talking like MP40 volks, Mp44 Storms, or Knights Cross here? How well do those riflemen handle them in those situations?

Well, lets say you have two carabine rifles and a american officer in a callin. Steady sights, american officer bonus possibly affecting you.
Assault grens would be cut to pieces. A single KCH would die horribly. Grens and volks would die horribly. If theres several KCH/storm mp44s them, a replaced rifle with a smg ranger squad would completely turn it to your side, for a bit more cost.
The old carabines maimed mp40s like they were nothing, except terror which pretty much stood up to them. You always have the advantage, gaining huge bonuses in short range and picking them off quite fast as well at range.
The only problem is assault nades tbh. For cost, you will beat the living crap out of any other inf. Thats the big deal here. His 300 mp stormies and 240 mp grens would get chewed up by three 190 mp rifles. Ofc nothign I say here is 100% accurate.. hopefully killer and elite will post some replays for you.

either ways i suggest reapers over carbines any day. axis infantry is worthless now and days and simple FF wins. Once you roll with vet 2-3 rifle blob all axis infantry dies like flies.

They are pretty badass, I've had my fair share of 30+ kill riflesquads.
I'll post one up when I get the chance.

Carbines is pretty retarded as far as pure increase in DPS goes.
You go from having a base of 3.05-3.55 seconds between shots to a sudden base 1.8-2.05 seconds between shots.
That's, basically, a 67 percent increase in DPS average at medium range.
If we go entirely short range fights, it goes as this :
1.15-1.975 seconds between shots into 1.0125-1.15 seconds between shots.
That's an average 44 percent increase in DPS average at short range.
(@grenny : this somewhat contradicts my previous calculations in ventrilo, but I forgot ready aim time)
And I'm not even factoring in the reload buff - just the cooldown one.
