lai specially since he got me working in on the ropes of the game. back then top players were every where and the games were infantry pushes galore with tons of flanking and actual stragety. now its just a list of abusers ya list here.

There are a lot of good players here on EiR:r but to me a good player is also some one whos not the best by beating the shit out of the weaker ones, but actually trying to lead instead of taking it.


Also id say the sign of a good player is not the fear factor, but the skill of adaptation, but i do agree that a good player is a nuisance all by himself

I'd say the dominating trait is that the best players fight aggressively for the map, never truly fall back to defending. Say what you want about the type of game it feels like for the less microapt player, but these players can win in 20~ minutes. Its hard for me to argue that good players allow this to happen, so those who sit back and dont fight for the map has to go in the other group Spawnrape here I come. Doesn't matter if his unit isnt the most effective attacking, these guys take the map in 1 minute if you sit back.

Incendentally you dont have to form a line either, you just make sure that if they ever push you back the sandbag+wire cover you created while you pushed up still stands and that stuff like mines have been laid and hedges cleared.

Good players are hard to attack, the best ones are impossible to defend against! And once they have a finger, they jab your whole hand in their pocket.

Thats why Killer is one of the best and why he gets mentioned. He never stops fighting for the map or backcapping.

The key trait that all the best players have, in my opinion, is that they are frustrating to play against. Once you reach a certain level of play, the next level isn't like "wow this guy is good", it's like "wow this guy is REALLY FUCKING OBNOXIOUS!"

That guy with the mando sniper you never catch killing 50 infantry in the game, that guy who has only one mg42 but it lives the whole game and permasuppresses your whole infantry attack and flank by itself, the guy who has a 50 inf 4 vehicle kill p4 that just won't die no matter what you rush at it or how you try to trap it... the prescient game sense enables them to be the world's most obnoxious players. The only people who have consistently managed this effect in my opinion are Lai and Keeps, both of which can keep me running around in circles trying to catch my own tail for the majority of a game. The armored car that runs into your flank when you least want it to, the sniper that just won't die, a squad of KCH playing hide and go seek around a house with 4 infantry squads and winning, that's the kind of thing that the real "top players" have going for them.

Still, though, I see a difference between the two of you in that whenever I played Keeps I wanted to bash my head into my keyboard in frustration, while when I played you I'd go "well, I got outflanked and he did a nice job." Probably because Keeps uses snipers and armored cars more than you.

I play with a really ballenced company and i play agianst smokaz whenever i have the chance, and their usually really good games.
