I don't know if it's been mentioned before, but it seems it wouldn't be too hard to add an audio alert to the launcher so we know when the game is full.

I know some people have the patience to stare blankly at the launcher for hours until somebody shows up, but I'm not going to sit at the pc without getting something else done, and this means I can't always have the launcher on top...

I usually tell people to PM me on vent when it's full. I know it's a low budget solution, but it works for me.

Oh I agree, I've done that, but vent isn't a requirement, and unfortunately many players don't even bother to use it.

Maybe a similar sound when you join a server via steam. "SQUEAK"

Checking to see if your game is full is what I consider the tutorial for macro. If you can't do this often enough to catch when it happens, then you probably don't bother to check your mini map while you are playing in game. This leads to people says stupid things when asked for AT support, such as "where?" when there is only 1 triangle on the mini map.

That being said, stop being so lazy.

I've wanted an audio alert for quite a while. There are people out there who don't seem to know what vent is for some reason.

Make it long, annoying, and surprising. Like Rick Astley.

Another practical solution is to make the EIRRClient launcher flash orange or yellow on the taskbar the way MSN does it when there's a new message.

That doesn't help when you are using a fullscreen program, better with sound.

I would imagine it would also be easier to code a sound whenever a game filled up too.

If you like we could pick the most annoying sound in the world. It probably would involve Smokaz, a box of chocolates, and some handcuffs.

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

Why don't you collect up your love beads and potpourri and find something constructive to do.

Thanks, I really need your encouragement to stop being so lazy studying and play musical windows with EIRR Roll Eyes

Honestly, it's not always an issue, but there are some dead times when you'll see maybe a few fill up per hour, and monitoring that window is just not practical.

I'll see what I can do, at the very least I can make it play some windows alert thingymajig.

I think that's the most brilliant method, since windows alerts are easily customizable. I know I use a non-irritating sound scheme.
