Smokaz, I wasn't pointing this at anyone directly and if you think you are in that group then you must obviously think you stack, and yes I was annoyed at that woopy? I've done it too. lol, and i've been playing this/vcoh for years. Btw smokaz, did I ever say it was abusive, cheap, hacky, or trashy? No, I think you are putting words in my mouth, and did I ever say I was good enough to be in this "Competition"? Once again, no, I simply am giving my opinion on how players should be picked.

Why is it that everyone responds with such hostility in this community?

And responding with flames like you have no skill etc. really says nothing? Come 1v1 me in vCoH/EiRR (fresh co's).

I'll play you in vcoh.

Just to warn you I'm about 2800 ranks higher though (In americans, your highest)

Not to mention Smokaz would "smoke" you much worst than I would. And Aloha is quite a good vcoh player, if you've ever watched his broadcasts.

Yeah, rank in vCoh 1v1s tends to go down when you don't play 1v1s for over a year  Wink

btw get on vent and i'll play you in a vcoh 1v1 match

Super surprised when you throw a comment like that out, are you? I dont think you are, nor surprised by the response.

You're free to berate anyone, in fact you have my blessing. Let the thread shake under the hammer of judge Sharp! And vcoh I havent played in probably 2 years, so a hook handed pirate might beat me at that.

Just dont expect us to not have some fun at his highness expense.

No no, you're reading me like a open book. You can have my spot. Actually, just to make it look fair You and Aloha can 1v1 about it.

Put on those bikinies and wrestle it out.

I would want keeps to play axis. I remember keep playing a very modest and shy wehrmacht with combined arms, kch taking out supressed targets etc etc. You'd almost think *almost* he wasnt pants on head retarded but then he comes at you with the crappy churchills or ragequits over his vet 3 m3 ht dying later on his allies. Watching him play wehr 2 wars ago was nice, I remember a very epic game on Tanteville with him and two playing blitz and terror and it was highly enjoyable. (My humble opinion, on my beloved traitorboy.) ((pet name for keeps))

The players currently would end up showcasing (if they had level 9 accounts)a very small part of EIRR, a lot of players play very differently to what the self-proclaimed "top" players do. If boobaka and lai was doing this shoutcast back in the day, you'd see the retarded gren spam terror companies I had to snipe 50+ grens out of with a vet 0 sniper against 18 bikes to defeat. Same as with us doing this today, the better players just powergame too much.

psst: I think level 1 accounts make for the better game since people wont have as much as opportunity to make super spamtastic companies. Without doctrine buffs, the american players will feel like taking a sherman or two compared to what they would take if they could play this SNF game with a carabine company, same for volk assault. If a lot of people are going to be watching I dont think it will show the "best gameplay" of eirr to have carabines facing off against the assault blob.

People will be more impressed if its old school, with people trying to make the best of units like mines, snipers and just regular tanks. EIRR can get very one-dimensional because of the doctrines.

I find this post very interesting.

We are excited to advertise our MOd, but we feel we shouldn't advertise with doctrines in. I totally agree, but I think it shows just how much doctrines are screwing up the game.

If we are afraid to advertise the current condition of the MOD, perhaps we should fix it first. Getting the publicity is great, but if they are disappointed when they get here, you loose them forever. Advertising for new customers when you are not ready is a VERY bad decision.

While i have a similar feeling about that, the reason behind choosing lower ranked accounts is also to give the guys who have no clue what EiR is an easier time understanding it. If we already put in all the doctrines people would soon (after 3 mins) don't understand what's changed, get the wrong view on things etc.
Most of them never went away from vCoH so you might want to make it a slow change for them! Stay closer to vcoh and let the persistency do the first part of attracting!

I dont think my opinion is shared by many.,, so its irrelevant

I would expect to showcase what the full extent of the mod.  Don't under-estimate the general intelligence of gamers - most viewers would have been playing computer games for a long time (especially if they take the time to tune into a live shoutcast).  I don't think a new ability here and there is going to confuse too many players.   This is even more true if the commentators are explaining things as the game progresses.

How many games are going to be played?  If we are so desperate to dumb down what we show to the community, assuming there is more than one game, perhaps have 1 game at level 1, one game at level 6, one game at level 9.

Seeing as it's going to be hard to actually portrait all of the mod has to offer - I would think it be wise to show what we can while we have the chance,

3 Games would be too much for one evening. I would go for a match and a rematch with level 5 accounts.

That may be true for the new units, upgrades and abilities but certainly not for the 'invisible' stat buffs that the top doctrine table offers. To the unknowning viewer (even more so if that viewer is from the GR community) it would just seem as if we tweaked stats and made a bunch of units retardedly overpowered. Hence why it's best to avoid playing with T4s all together.

Also ground should make the cast with this thread open: http://forums.europeinruins.com/index.php?topic=13548.0

And i think it might be best to mention several of those changes before the game.

What about having the first game with rank 1 accounts, and then having a rematch where an EiR mod gives each account used the pp/xp to upgrade their account to rank 9?

That way they could showcase rank 1 accounts, rank 9 accounts, and persistency by having the units that gained experienced in round 1 carry over to round 2?

would be nice if the units in that last game get a XP boost to get them to vet2/3 quickly.

but is there enough time to play 2 matches?

I think first game should be new coys, lvl1, then turn around game on lvl7 coys so they can get the cool toys, and some doctrine abilities for me to explain.

Even so, I still wouldnt be as opposed to showing T4s. You all seem to forget, the war is supposed to end at some time, so when the mod is a full product we wont go for months with everyone at lvl9 and T4s abusing the metagame and slow adaptation which we see now with wars going on for 5-6 months at a time.

Ppl might think the T4s are cool, they might think that we are making stuff OP, it's hard to understand what the audience perception would be if we did show them as I dont think my commentary would be sufficient enough to convince them that a T4 company has hours worth of effort expended, thus warranting an advantage that the T4 provides.
