With Metro on this, the trailer didn't really impress me, and I believe also the game is happening during the Cold War era (ie vietnam time.. so modernish weapons but no javelin missiles and ACRs, more along the likes of the M16/Ak47 days).

Btw, Treyarch made WaW, which apart from Nazi Zombies, sucked. Modern Warfare is Infinity Ward's.

The stunt they pulled with Infinity Ward after MW2 made sure I'm not buying another Call of Duty game tbh.

i think it'll be better, it'll be like in between world at war and mod warfare, no uber weapons and probably better game-play wise just like in W@W. MP in W@W is just better than mw2, mainly cuz of the stupid dedicated server issue (not having them) but also because it took more skill in w@w with the guns. mw2 = more fun, world at war = more enjoyable.

Did you just say World at War was better the CoD4?  MW 2 blows chunks they killed Dedicated servers but CoD4 is the best one in the entire series.

I agree with you but unfortunately for us, MW2 is the most successful video game ever made. Probably because of what others have pointed out; it's main stream gaming. Hard core ppl hate it, but the average joe has to get it.

The one thing I don't agree with is every COD game after COD2 was the ability to have any weapon u want and doesn't matter which side ur on.
Im jus puzzled to as when would u see a US marine running around with a G3/ AK47. The only time i'd expect to see that in a game is when you have picked it up of someone you av killed.

better yet, make an option for that. realism option. instead of relying on the community to mod this part.

MW1 was certainly the smoothest and most enjoyable "stop thinking and shoot things" -experience for me, with just enough realism to satisfy my demands (on HC mode, ofc. Promod? If I wanted to play CS, I would.) And I really don't think anyone can argue that it's not an extremely good game at what it's trying to be. If I were to feel like playing an fps right now, I'd pick MW1. Yes, even over BFBC2.

As for MW2, I dunno. Never bought that, but I understand it's MP was just MW1 with bling bling and stupid server solutions. I wouldn't say "hardcore gamers hate it" as condor put it. Even hardcore gamers can enjoy good casual games. If something is mainstream, it doesn't mean it's necessarily bad, evil or sacrilege. (okay, consoles are, but still.)

To verify my status as pro elite cool shits-bricks kinda gamer, I end this post in praising ArmA II as what I play when I feel like hardcore. That, and singstar.

I preferred COD2 over all else, followed by COD:UO and WaW (with the realism mod, it was king). COD2 was just tones more fun then MW1 because spraying with a machine gun was the worst thing you could do, and Rifles were king.
