So in my efforts to "not do what everyone else is doing or to try out different strategies," I am posting to ask how useful is the bergetiger. I haven't used it nor even seen it in battle yet.

Does it retrieve munitions quickly?
How fast is the repairs/ is it a full repair?
Is it worth it to take this over the Jagd or sticky at nades?

Note: If i would take the bergetiger i would also go for the apcr tree, of which at t3 it has a buff for the berg (Faster repairs and plus 100 munitions to berg)

Jadgpanther is awesome, its great for its oh shi... factor. I don't think the bergtiger works, when I asked about it no one said anything.

Also even if you don't get the BT the top tier is pretty good. 12% more damge 35% more penetration and 15% more accuracy for all your AT vehicles. Much better than improved halftrack plating or vet one vehicles IMO. Unless you find it hard to keep vetted units alive or you like to spam HTs.

From what I gather its meant to repair vehicles for a munitions cost. You get munitions by harvesting wrecks.

Ya, aparently the vet1 ability isnt implemented yet anyway. And at my current tree loadout I can either go for the apcr or the tank hunters. I was thinking about tank hunters because I liked the idea of vet and the t3 ability below it for armor plating.

Are the apcr rounds a toggle like ap rounds? Also, are they 'infinite' or is it a "use 2 times then fend for yourself" ability?

Or is it a passive ability?

The berg doesn't seem to warrant a t3 right now, however I am yet to see it in action so that claim has little base to stand on. It is something that require a little too much time to use for the way the mod plays right now. Unless the berg repairs really quickly and the munitions it gathers is very high, I don't see it being a "really useful unit." It seems very situational.

I would go with both but i have already spend some on hetzer and the extra munitions supply. Duel shreks on tank busters is nice. Nice suprise factor when that sherman rolls by thinking it will have an easy kill.

That and put 1 in an inf ht.  Yea.

Well then you have 5 points left so spend that on JP and Panzer Command, 20% more damage is pretty neat added ontop of all the other buffs you can get, especially if you are going for APCR. It takes huge chunks out of a Pershings health.

if he went APRC getting a jag is in my opinion less worth while primary because the jag does not benefit much from the extra 35% penetration of that t4. So all you are left with on a jag is the benefit of having better crits. I'd run a heavy hetzer company (you'll find they can actually do fairly well with APRC) freeing you up one T3.

The command point cost eludes me too. I don't know if I'll have enough for my tier 4 or not.

What would be nice, to solve these problems in a simple way, is to put how many command points each ability costs in the description...problem solved.

I believe the Bergetiger is currently broken.

Also 1 question about the apcr ability. In the description it says "Double kill crit chances"
I could only guess what this does, does anybody feel like sharing their knowledge as to what this mean exactly?  =]

I may try to play around with the berg if I decide to try a hetzer army. Since the apcr tree has a slight berg buff at t3. I haven't seen a berg fielded yet so I'd like to try it out.

Note: Just noticed the new post.

What is broken about it? I suppose it just doesn't repair or anything?

Ya its repair is broken I think. It will be fixed when all of the doctrines are done.

Double Crits means it reduces the chances of 5 Percents happening on tanks. You will have a 50% higher chance of killing a tank if you take it down to 5% HP instead of getting Engine Destroyed, Main Gun destroyed, or a 5 Percent Bug.

There is also a higher chance of Engine Damage happening at Yellow HP.

i think gamesguy fixed it actually. It was noted in one of the recent patches that berg tiger has been fixed.

I might go check and comfirm that, but I'm fairly confident there was a note there.

edit: Yep, in patch notes 0.7.9 it states "bergtiger fixed"

Do Hetzers benefit much from APCR since they are meant to be tank destroyers?
