When does Dragon Age 2 take place?
Dragon Age 2 takes place sometime after the Blight of Ferelden, as the Darkspawn and other threats emerge to endanger the world again. The story unfolds over the course of a decade as you rise to power and change the world.

Will I meet familiar characters in Dragon Age 2?
Dragon Age 2 is set in the same world as Dragon Age: Origins, and you will cross paths with many of the same individuals and groups that you encountered before.

Will the Dragon Age 2 story react to the decisions I made in Dragon Age: Origins?
Yes. If you import your Origins playthroughs, you will experience the consequences of the choices you made previously. However, this is not necessary to fully experience Dragon Age 2.

meh , it's ok , but it's nothing to RPGs what was Baldur's Gate back at its time.
Seeing as Bioware made both, the combat and tactics are much more simplisticated in Dragon Age then what was in Baldur's Gate. That is somewhat a dissapointment for me.

Thats not really true Nug, combat was just different in TOV, BGII, BGI.

Yes we loved ICewind dale, baldurs gate etc but you can't say the combat and tactics are worse for these modern games

in DAO you have some scenarios and fights and scripted events that far outgo the old games. Like minas tirith type of attacks where all the resources you have built up during the game reflects how a long quest involving defending a fortress or sieging it works out.

Anyways if you guys wanna have fun play Fallout 3 New Vegas, it's a great game, even better than it's predecessor imo.

Here's a picture of my FO3NV character, he's currently at the Nellis Airbase to seek out the boomers.

One word: Slouch

It rhymes with couch Wink

Back in your day, metusalem, people would sit 20-30 minutes in Ultima I just to decide stats.. by words.. of their starting character.

You spent 2 hours rerolling stats for 1 character in BGII? lol. Unless you hosted a multi game to create the entire party, which mean you miss out on all the fun with npc quests for your party..

As for IWD I always found it obnoxious and unacceptable how little work they put into the characters that could join you, while in BG having sarevok or minsc on your team, putting up with kaleigh and jaheira was a huge deal.

I see the point in doing so if you have played it a lot of times to make a "perfect" party

Yes. It really was that epic. While repeated content games like EIRR and rts gaming holds a renewing interest through the drug-like rewards that also have such malicious effiency in other, more commercially successful MMORPGS, very little have ever truly contended with a classic like Baldur's Gate.

It was one of those strange game's where you look back at BGI and think, this game was great. But then you think of BGII and it was like a book you took part in, a story you got told.  And how every thing came together in ToB. The development of your character etc, everything about it was great.

Truly this is one of those games which could need a modern remake.
