*cheeky bugger you keep updating you post Unk*
*side note the above suggestions are mechanics to a campaign mate and I like them, but story is important, narrative engages the player*
I like the grind for the fact it represents history, time spent etc. Hence my wow account like salan's still being around, I made that fucker and killed all the big bad guys with it!
But my frustration with that element is neither here or there, take out grind etc you still have right now the same old game over and over against the same player groups over and over.
So the warmap is the real focus, narrative to the game beyond deploy and kill, building something more than just the repetition of wait in the launcher, get dodged, then get stacked(or stack), play 30 min, desync(or not), flame opponents(or be nice to them), rinse and repeat. Sure I've had heaps of "great" games but in the end, the campaign the warmap the narrative is what the game misses.
COH the base game tells a story, thus people get hooked then play the online games. The story about where you come from and where you are going is what is important in most things.
So yeah Unk, your suggestions have merit, but the key is the campaign, that steps this game up the level it needs to be.
Its the one aim of this mod for over 4 years now, it was part of the plan way back in fl days as we all know.
So having faith in EIRRmod and not basing any changes in a drive to "popularity" is the key.
The next step should be just around the corner anyway, so like i said earlier the OP is more sour grapes than anything else.

Well nev, hopefully every war can offer you somewhat of a different narrative.
The players are in control and with the proper tools handed to them they can make their own stories and they are influenced by the decisions made by other players which should allow for a different war experience on every play-through. It's like a game of axis & allies, different each time you play despite the kick-off, ruleset, pieces and sometimes players being identical in every game.
Oh god how I long for a warmap

I think the idea of all the allied players sharing the same airborne pool is intriguing!

Very interesting indeed. Same with storms, rangers, heavy tanks, all types of stuff.

Exhibit A)
Early in the morning, Rototor and Dudilu buys up each their grandiose amount of airblob which instantly dies in great numbers the following 2-3 games.
Exhibit B)
Groundfire comes to the AB store, and they are all out. He has to use stickies for AT.

I'd agree with Arky here.
Infantry should be more or less Infantry only with lower fuel, while armor low on infantry to create Synergy like gameplay. For example Panzer Divisions usually just had Panzer Grenadiers as infantry with very little other forms of units. Such build would be more or less- fun

Because a forum post should be like a woman's skirt. Long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.

I'm under the impression that we are only allowed ONE company for this, So I can't really it being abused too hard.
And maybe have a limit on how many units the WHOLE armies can have, and then hard cap how many EACH person can have.
To stop one guy being a dick and wasting the whole armies worth of AB for example.
And I'm pretty sure that Me and Mys, between us, we are going to take the Factions worth of Volks

About the newsclippings etc, id have no probs in chipping in writing them if there is a need for that ^^
AS for the rest, dont know if a combined pool would work, BUT it would make things a lot more realistic in the sens that a war theater map only had certain amount of units and resources to spend, x amount of tigers on that front line and y amount of rangers and at supply to counter it. Sounds real cool, abit like the old brilliant game A bridge to far!

As long as people had a minimum stock, ofc. It wouldnt be fun if Dudilu used up all the AB the first week.
But, it would definitely help separate the people who shouldnt be running tigers for instance
theyd run out fast

If AmPm wants this, he will defo have to look at how many players are one each side and base it round that.
Would allow for some more intresting game mods.
like "Recover the KT", A Engine destroyed KT is in the middle of the map, and you have to try and repair the engine and bring back to the spawn. If you do this, then it gives the WHOLE army an extra KT to roll with (when we only have like 2 in the whole army, a 3rd one would be cool).
Although that might be a little hard to put into the game.
Edit:- If this is going to be a couple weeks thing, we could even imagine an production/recuitment thing to it, Like every week we get a resupplied pool, so as the week goes on it gets harder to fight your fights because you and your allies are losing stuff. Will make for an intresting last day as you need to try and fight for something without a Tiger because they've been knocked out for the week and little things like that.

Or the people that utterly suck with Tigers would lose them all in like 2 days and nobody would get to use any period.

Right now I'm looking at about a week per sector, played out over a few maps. Still working on it. Hopefully keeps people occupied for a while =)

Then yeah, The manufacture idea might work, Like allow certain zones to give little boosts (Like being a key location for Oil/Ore ect
)

make offmaps and air support for everyone as global support based either on sector or on global scale like in close combat. For example each player have 10 offmaps and 10 air strikes at start and he can take max 2 into one battle.

If bob wants to get the Stuka dive bomber model in rly quickly, that would be a great idea, nug.
Then both side will have access to some sort of air power.
