I could never have thought of this and im kinda used to the one in coh to.

But this would require more skill and more thinking i beleive, you need to estimate where the enemy would go wheres best e.t.c.

It seems cool but also hard at some point, a thing that we could get tired of..

But this really suits realism.

oh wow this is sumthing iv always wished coh ad from the start Smiley wud of added alot more tactical immersion into the game n adds jus even more to the gameplay. If this was in EIRR u wud see a massive change in playing style by everyone. No more been able to see ova a hedge n mortar the pants outa sumthing without actully scouting.

Well, I would figure you would need to use scout units more, possibly making recon units a very important part of the game.

Think of this, 3 man recon teams with rifles, camo and good sight range. No upgrades besides smoke grenade.

Having to position correctly, allowing ATG to truly ambush from behind buildings. Sure it reduces the difference between camo infantry and units and non camo ones a little, but they still have increased flexibility. It would also mean more blind firing and less artillery domination of the forward lines.

Zomg, you could actually get some good tactical play going!

This relies solely on the skill on the players involved. A mod will not provide that for us.

What a true LOS mod would do to EIRR would make the gameplay slow to an absolute crawl.

Everyone will be the one wanting to do the ambushing and sending units out to scout every nook and crany of the map is a deathwish with no retreat.

There's the potential to miss sighting threats due to shot blocking obscuring vision and every flank would have to begin with a prelim scout, of which when the scouts are scared off it takes absolutely no effort to reposition defensive assets to a new location.

In real life, it takes effort and time to move a pak gun. In CoH it takes one click to move it to a different firing position, fucking up a potential flank or engagement.

Its not for EIRR if we want to stay a competitive fast paced mod.

EIR is competitive and fast paced? I thought the balance overall was questionable and most games happened along a fairly stable front line till some sort of spam breaks through =)

Oh and Demon, we are playing MoW, its a far superios WW2 game. If it only used CoH's engine and was persistent...

EIRRMod, with real LoS the only thing we are lacking is a good crit system and realistic weapon damage =)

doesn't work.. i put it into FOF .. sync errors the instant you put a weapon crew out. I talked to cozmo about it at length and its something he'll fix after he's done his university.

unless you know someone with scar coding/macro coding time to do it Wink

i tested it extensively, it works AWESOME so long as you have no weapon crews...  really makes the game go further.. i was super tempted to remove weapon crews from FOF to use it thats how great it was ;(

yep, no nothing that a infantry gets on/uses that is not his gun / accessory.

howitzers/88s/flakvierling/at guns/hmgs/mortars / emplacements.. etc..

this stupid macro was the reason I svn'd my mod... I figured it wouldn't work correctly but I wanted to test it out without having to unzip and unpack it all over again Wink

took forever to undo all the damage !

I have to disagree with all of you. The Los from MoW is shi. its annoying and not enjoyable to me. so dont think that by including it in COH to make it likw MoW its gonna get recieved well by people that play VCoh.
