Can we revert the launcher so that everyone will start at level one once they create a new profile?  It's getting a little ridiculos to see all these level 5 accounts when the campaign is over...The new players have no idea what its like to grind your company all the way up.

would be a good change.
the longer armies stay away from level 9, the more fun the game is.

We will most likely have everyone start at level 1 again when the next wipe is going to happen (which occurs when all doctrines are implemented).

Ok perfect.  I dont know it just doesn't seem right that all the players start off with a level 5 account and 200PP for no reason.  I guess it makes sense but meh, I cant wait till the wipe then.

It makes perfect sense and this was done in the old EIR:R as well, it's terrible to let new players start off at lvl 1 when most players are at lvl 9.This way they are at least competitive from the get go.

TBH, the whole level system needs to go away. Its boring, its annoying, and has no benefits.

Persistence should be based on Vet for the most part....

Actually, we should just do something like 10 vet levels, each one giving 5% buffs or what not to different stats, then top end vet would be around what we have now or slightly better but it would take a lot longer. Also unique vet for the units would be cool, maybe 1-5 is generic vet, 5-10 is specialist vet or some such.

It will go away.
And we will make vet no longer require purchasing in the process.

Unknown, removing the levels but putting in a time based advancement system doesnt help, anyone with half a brain will make 10 companies then ignore the mod for a couple weeks =p

The who concept of levelling a company needs to go away, and be replaced by an in depth and more interesting vet system.

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

And anyone with a complete functioning brain will realise this, and make a system where this is irrelevant =p

Ah, but if you do something like say, require a game a day to get said points, we are back to a grind, albeit a really slow one.

It also punishes people that may have days they can't play, but on some days can play 3-4 games.

That's where it gets tricky. Grindless = freebies that can be taken advantage of; Requiring Games = slow grind that some people will fall behind on because of schedules anyway.

I still say the best way, is to make companies complete at creation, and then increase the vet and maybe go back to the old Resource Bonus system, which was way more fun.

I'm interested in hearing this solution that can't be taken advantage of and does not have any grind to it while not giving people all their unlocks, etc. at the beginning.

The current level system is fine. Removing levels from the game will utterly bork company progression, and kill a lot of the mood that this mod's persistent environment creates.
The grind can be a bitch, though. But there are simpler, less radical solutions for that.
How about this: every X amount of time (it could be days, weeks, months) that passes, the grind becomes lessened.
For example: after the first two weeks, accounts level 1-3 gain 30% more XP/PP per game, levels 4-6 gain 20% more, and 7-8 gain 10% more and such. Every two weeks the amount gained would increase again. This would help keep newer players on (somewhat) equal footing with the rest of the community, while not flat-out giving them free levels/PP.
Of course you'll always have a small fraction of the community that grinds to level 9 in a week, but this assumes that it takes an average player about a month and a half to get to level 9, with only a few games a week.

numbers and percentages could be changed as appropriate, of course.

Remember when you got 3 CP and 1 RB free for every day you didn't play?
