m18 is not Tongue.

You might limit it to armor and give some doctrinal buffs maybe so it's more attractive to armor players than m10 so there would be a purpose in taking it.

M18 and M10 fill completely different roles tbh.

M18 is an ambush/attritional TD that can only fight at long range with it's awesome sight.
M10 is a fast assault/flanking TD that loves to rape shit.

How is the addition of the M18 removing variety? Even if it was basically the same as the M10.... it's in the same faction as the M10, so it would just be another model for the same thing. That's not less variety. But it's even more than that, it's a unit different to the M10, that's not similar to any other units in the game. That adds variety.

Wehr has no specialisation until you get very high up in the doctrine trees. And even then a good wehr army needs a balanced composition. Basically you have a jack of all trades. Also Wehr AT is annoying to handle - shrecks miss, paks are slow, stugs have no turret, panthers are expensive, p4s dont kill anything particularly well.

The poster asked for a wehr fast-turreted dedicated tank destroyer. Panther is one. Don't give a shit if it's expensive or if it can crush infantry - it wasn't in the question.

Well I was referring to cheap, throw-away medium-light TDs but I suppose I should have been more precise.

Well WM wins in barely having any unit gaps anyway.

I'd say it has no unit gaps, just because it doesn't have a unit that's exactly the same as the US's M10 doesn't mean there's a gap. It's got both a cheap, light and expensive, heavy version of mobile tank destroyer.

WM has a pretty big gap in Heavy Artillery.

The Nebel while good is only a suppression tool primarily and the Walkingstuka is not even comparable in performance to a  Priest, Howitzer or Calliope.

Flak 88 T3 Arty mode.

Don't get them started on that, they will say that its useles as it only has the range of an 88.

Nevermind the fact that it will destroy an attack against it.

The 88 Arty is useful for when the Smoke rounds start dropping and those RR's get a little too friendly. Aside from that your uses will be limited to the immediate vicinity around you and only on occasion.

The trade off being either indirect fire support or clear fire lanes.

Yet again, you said there's a gap in heavy artilery for wehr. The 88 provides heavy artilery with the T3, or are the shells not howitzer ones?

Much love, Mysthie.

P.S. We all know the Stuka is underperforming due to the 0.5 penetration it has versus infantry, which is to be fixed with the doctrine rework. That should be fun.

There is a very dramatic difference between 100 Range and 275 Range of a howitzer.

Range, far more then damage is what separates Heavy artillery in EiR. You need both to be effective and when comparing the strictly indirect fire roles the Howitzer has it 2.75 fold
