I hate to complain about a nice new patch, but was the nerf for Hotchkiss upgun against heavy tanks really necessary? There's no reason it should have to match a Tetrach in penetration power, when it costs 20 more fuel, is slower, and doesn't come in a glider. Especially when Luftwaffe without 88 and SE are already basically banging their heads against the wall trying to kill Pershing and especially Crocodile, both of which don't give a shit about Marders, 50mm, Panzershreks, or anything really. PE AT hardly needed nerfing, especially not one of the only things that could actually penetrate heavy tanks.

i meant that as a good thing Wink , LMGs were always a counter to those pesky rangers and mandos. I didn't understand why dual lmgs were nerfed in the first place.

because they raped too hard Cheesy

players would use dual schrecks to level their grens then switch to dual lmgs to rape infantry.

but we'll see how this plays, rarely saw 'em with terror coys a nyway

I think it had to do something with popcap : firepower ratios, and buff stacking.

Found it:

The change was made, as previously stated, in voice with you Lt Apollo - to stop MU dumping, and severely stacking starting callins.

There are very few units that can MU focus in the way that grenadiers could (basic squad) - and that was in error.

The error has now been rectified, and will remain for a significant time, if not indefinate.

These types of threads do not help revert the changes, more-so the opposite.

nah , thats only a counter to close range weapons,,,,, take normal rifles and take them out from long range.

Dual shrecks need also to come back on grens.

I would hope that a non-elite unit with no abilities that takes as many munitions as a Commando squad would rape infantry, otherwise they would be kind of pointless!

nah, already have enuff issues with just single schrecks. i like having dual schrecks doc unique, makes more flavor. I wonder if u can mix lmg + schreck now.

all they did was change the penetration rate. the hotch was just too good at penetrating allied heavy tanks. they also lowered the pop from 8 to 6,

also, bring back moving cloaked paks..... it was there in the first place for a reason,  now allies spam too much tanks and just gung-ho them without worrying about anything. 80% of games have 3-4 m10 spam  + churchill spams.

They lowered the 37mm Hotchkiss pop to 6, not the 50mm. The 37mm Hotch is jank and I've literally never seen anyone use it. For good reason, too.

What is defined as "too good"? The only PE AT besides the Jagdpanther or APCR with a chance better than 32% to penetrate a Pershing? Edit: Forgot the Panther because I don't use it, it would just be more cost effective to have two Marders on the field which would have 32% each instead of 60%.

Edit again: Also, the change was made to match the Tetrach, which is already basically better in every way other than being a doctrine specific unlock. Counterpoint?

Undocumented change: Hotchkiss 50mm repair kit now costs an extra 15 munitions.

*headdesk*

I've never seen anyone suggesting that Hotchkiss are overpowered, so why the random nerfs? This random spur of the moment balancing makes me sad.

It's called "WTF Random we do what we want!!" balancing =)

It's how EIR works, no matter how the current dev team at the time likes to portray it.
