I was just curious if its possible to change the incoming penetration vs an infantry unit.

I thought it'd be cool to make tru flak jackets, maybe have like 90% penetration so there's a 10% chance of taking no damage at all on an infantry units against gun damage.

It was the reason why stukas used to suck vs infantry, they had a 0.5 pen modifier.

In theory yes you can do that, but it messes with Tank shots and artillery too.

You can set the value to be super high but then you get weird things against garrison.

I think you could possibly use that for something like elite armor etc. instead of accuracy and damage modifiers, they'll have different levels of penetration against guns so it doesn't affect tanks. It'd take some work but i think it'd be kinda neat.

so like soldier armor it'd be like say against a garand maybe 90% dmg and 90% penetration
elite 80% 80% penetration etc somethin like that.
but no accuracy modifiers, which imo i always thought is just dumb...

you could make a new infantry armor type, but then you would have to add it to EVERY gun in the game to make it work correctly.

well of course but that's a lot of work. Could be interesting tho. be awesome on a sniper, someone tries to snpe back and doesn't penetrate and then go fuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Except that even with a vest Tym, it will still hurt like hell or break ribs =)

The reduced accuracy vs certain armors is to represent these experienced soldiers' ability to avoid incoming fire, seek proper cover, advance in a certain manner, etc.
It'd be nice to have Rosarius generator on my Falls, though...
