Atm im beginning to start a investigation into these two combos.

AN issue has risen that i have noticed about the assault flammen flamethrower. it seems very lackluster to put it bluntly.

It seems to me that any close engagement that the assault flammen engage in have a 50/50 chance to lose.

as ive noticed, Rifle bars have a better chance to annilate you 1v1. As the flamethrower only targets one rifle at a time and the mp44s dont seem to be doing as much while the rifle bars rip through or supress.

Now with chemical fire it sopposebly does 25%+ damage,, yet i am able to recognise any difference as im still losing 1v1 agasint rifle bars.

---

now im thinking to myself, It will be more cost effective to have assault grens + flame nades. Reasoning behind this is that flame nades not only does more damage but targets the whole squad in one hit. it just requires abit of micro to pull off

So now id like to ask for peoples observations and some rgd stats on what you think. I believe the cheaper alternative of assault gren + flame nade will kill more.

I think the problem is that you are using them not correctly. I always put up a smokescreen from my mht before I let them engage anything

That possibly a sound alternative. i forgot to mention how others use this unit. as i seem to be using them wrong or to stubborn to change what im currently doing. latter sounds more likely.

Incendiary nades and flamethrower do completely different things, incendiary nades just force the unit out of cover but don't do any actual damage if your opponent is watching his units while the flamethrower is for actually killing things. Given the fact that you're giving up an StG44 I'm not sure the damage output is high enough in normal situation to justify the extra 25 munitions. Except against garrisoned buildings. But IIRC they also have AB armour? In which case it's entirely worth it, you get a flamer for basically normal price (giving up a ~25 munition StG44 plus another 25 munitions)  and then an upgraded armour type on a unit that can really use it.

I've never really liked infantry based flamethrowers, they seem to be very hit or miss.

Edit: They do indeed use AB armour, and that probably explains why you're getting your ass kicked by BARs. Soldier armour is significantly better against BARs than AB armour is, although AB armour is somewhat better against Garands than Soldier armour.

I agree with you demon, the only reason to really use the flamethrower is if your using it in combo with 2x t3 smoke hummel imo.

Everything kills with crits, and extra damage is good on everything, including flamers, because it gets them down to red or yellow crit zone faster.

CHemical fire actually kills shit now Artekas. lowers hp to 60% on explosion and severly cripples any retaliation as the mp44s clean up the rest. i have forgot the airborne armor, although i still get sniped always by shermans.

ill pay more attention to the sniping rates of tanks on my flammen cuz it seems like im buying the armor to dodge but it being to ineffective

deadbolt brings up a good point  Cheesy

AB armor only applies if the squad is moving.

You're doing it wrong.

Assault flammens are supposed to take up permanent residence aboard an IHT to evolve it into a Dragon-HT which rapes everything(double flammens aboard IHT create the mythical phoenix-HT).

they are just awesome. really. perfect ai counter. with CF they just usually wipe out rifleblobs alone. Rangers crying like a little babies. Use a cover to avoid bar supression, look out for nade only.
Totally worth their price.
P.S. im surprised about that thread, i thought its about "OP BS WTF!!!111"

just get normal assault grens with mp44, less hussle, and you can get other 2 t2s or offmap.

Later on move to pgs with kar. You will see that this is the most viable way.

I just wish to point out that if you are fighting Infantry player who has t2 Suppress and Manouver which is +33% dmg vs suppressed/pinned infantry for thompsons, garands, bars and (optionally) t3 Oversupplied: +1 BAR on purchase then that might be a reason why Assault Flamer Grens loose to them in 1v1.
