Well, comparing the staghound gun to the Cromwell gun is like me comparing the M8 gun to a sherman gun or even a panther to a tiger gun. (penetration is similar, dmg is same but tiger has great AoE, which makes it better, with deceptively similar stats)

You forgot to compare the AoE of both guns, which is a large part of determaining differences between the two.

I say Staghound is a fixed Stuart gun because their stats are nearly identical with some variations in the target tables, (Stuart get s a 1.5 dmg modifer vs. mardar, Stag does not) so that would be the proper gun to compare it to.

I suppose you're right for the most part. But what I was really getting at is two-pronged:
1) No other LV is so similar and effective, compared to it's "big brother" medium tank, and
2) The Stag is just as much of a tank as it is a LV.

Except the stag has 8-9.5 seconds reload. Check the wind-up and wind-down tables, carrot, then the fire-aim-tim and ready-aim-time ones, Illegal( I don't remember which one had the 3 second penalty). You'll know what I mean.

That raises an interesting point, how do we define "tank" and "light armour" and do any units fall inbetween the two options? I guess we could break "tank" down into medium, heavy and super heavy pretty easily. But then where do we put things like marders? or as carrot pointed out, stags.

Stag is currently underpriced based on the units toughness + AI offensive abilities.

What it can do is retarded, and that is, go in, ignore the PAK, kill the schrek squad, decrew the pak, then run around till a P4 or larger shows up.

To balance it, make the Puma 50mm have a similarly effective top mounted HMG and give it built in skirts.

If you dont like the current state of the stag, why elevate the puma to its level? 2 Op's dont make balance lol. That method of balancing only works if you can make everything OP to the same degree, then relativly speaking nothing is OP.

The 50mm Puma and Staghound are in completely different roles... the Stag is an AI vehicle, the 50mm Puma is an AV vehicle. Derp. Their cannons are completely different, so MG and extra HP or not they fulfill different roles.

lol no it can't, it can do that if it has canister shot yes but a normal stag, even with my rca buffs on two tier 3's can't go in shrug off a pak shot and then take out a schreck squad, it'd lose easy. UR daft. It only has 450 health.

if u take a cloaked pak shot, which more than likely it will do that's

143.75
+ 120x1.25-150 (short aoe damage, since more than likely ur going to engage up close)

that's nearly 300 right there, and a lot of times on that 3rd hit, you lose an engine and something else comes along to finish it. i've never seen you play british, try a stag spam company, see how effective it's not. especially since everybody on axis spams a massive amount of AT now

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

The 1.25 aoe damage is only applied if the stag gets hit by a shrek shot that rolled a miss but still hit it, Tym.. or perhaps if it's being buttraped by a fellow stag that just got hit on it's front (the part where he two stags touch). It's really rather hard to figure out when the 1.25 is applied...

It might be that the short range AoE comes into effect when you get side hits. Reason being is that the side is closer to the center than the front and rear. That might explain inconsistent damage on some vehicles, but I have no idea until a proper test is done.

It would also almost explain the way stuarts with stuart armour used to get two-shotted by shreks all the time.. But doesn't explain why they stopped getting that with M8 armour. EVEN THOUGH there's no difference in damage taken from shreks between the two armours lol...

does it also explain this:

http://www.xfire.com/video/2c02fe/

?

firesparks said this about it:

RR, schreck, and bazooka actually deal 25% more than their listed damage, this is because they have a 1.25% damage modifier in the "small" area of effect. The radius for the "small" distance is listed as 0, but I think this just mean direct hit.

So 1.25 X 75(zook dmg) = 93.75, so it would take 5 penetrating hit to kill a 400 HP ostwind.

PIAT still deals 90 damage afaik
