Alright, so now that the novelty has passed a little, time for a bit of context:

1. This is a beta skin:
This skin is by no means finished. Some of the icons are still based on the white skin and some pages might look weird. The color scheme is by no means perfect.

2. Well wtf roflmao! If it isn't finished why did you release it?:
Quite simply because even though I'm capable of releasing good designs, I'm no design god. I want your feedback in order to make this skin look great. It's a rather daunting task to skin an entire forum and I can't go through all of the pages myself. If you can help me identify problems and give critique on the general design, I will be able to make progress and make this meh/o.k design kick ass.

3. Please use it a bit before judging it:
After 3 years of using a particular design, people get used to it. A sudden change to the entire color scheme is similar to having a bright light shoved in your face in a dark room. Don't think that I felt quite comfortable using this new design right away, but trust me, it does grow on you. After using it for quite a bit of time, I've grown more fond of the scheme and now don't even like the old one! Please use it a bit before switching instantly to the old design, which brings me to the next point.

4. For those of you who prefer black text over white, you can change the scheme to the old version.
Go to Profile - Layout and Preferences- and click the (change) link and select "Europe in Ruins".

5. What the hell is it with that red menu on top?
I'll remind you this is a beta skin! I'm still experimenting and trying things. By the time you see this page you probably won't even see the red banner anymore .

6. I've always been told don't fix something that aint broke, so why are you changing the skin?
With the new Frontpage and Launcher V2, we felt like the forums felt "out of place". This is just one in a whole series of awesome changes I'm going to be making to the site. We're going to add a lot of cool functionality (can't tell you what just yet), but we developers felt like everything has to feel seamless, hence the redesign.

In a nutshell:
Please give constructive criticism. The more the better. The more feedback I get the faster I will improve the design. Please use the skin a bit before reverting to the old one. Trust me, you have to get used to it.

Basics of design, contrasting colors, also, keep it clean and easy. It's a forum.

Again, nice that someone is working on things, but I changed mine back to the old classic (available in your profile options) because the white and dark text makes it really clean and easy. Nothing extra on it.

big red buttons on the left and top are cool but plz keep the rest white.

Well just might just  be me but im the content over style type. I simply want the check the forums here and then and dont want to get distracted by flashy stuff. Also im im an old bloke and dont like changes.
P.s.: Black text on white background is just easier to read if u ask me.

But of course we all appreciate the work u guys put in this righto?

It's good to see some kind of progress, but seriously, red, green and grey don't compliment each other.. At all.

my comment was a bit short so i add on it:

It doesn't matter how cool you make it look. Most people want a white screen with black text.

You could make all the buttons and sliders nicely big red and green. but please keep the background white.

I think a good solution would be making two skins, one dark one white?

also to qualify my statement a bit, i have no problem with a dark background. however if you're going to use a dark background you also need to use bright text, preferably white although any bright colour will do. the dark greenish thing around the forums just becomes very annoying under black.

i think the problem is with dark background and bright text its hard to read if you don't use ambient light in your room because its high contrast and the text you want to focus on is the bright thing on your screen makes it distracting

Whenever you get a new PM, there is no number in parentheses up top by the "My Messages" button, like the old skin.

It might be your cache, in other words it might take a while for the changes to appear. Refreshing the page a few times should fix it.

I removed the red bar because the color clash was just too big. Don't worry though, I'll find a cool accomodation for the Mod Hall of Fame image.

I really like the new look. Much more professional looking. Looks like what a good graphics high quality game should look like.

The old white look was too generic and standard looking.
