Nug,

according to that site, of all the AUTOMATIC weapons, the FG42 has the 2nd highest DPS at long range (2.1), with BAR having highest DPS at long range (2.5).

However, do take note that you get 4 FG42s for 120 mun, versus 2 BARs for 80 mun (or 3 BARs for 120 mun for comparison excluding doctrine abilities). Also both weapons get 1.02 incremental accuracy modifier, which increases accuracy and hence damage versus larger squads, which means allied squads will take more damage since they have more men. This modifier is not present on all infantry weapons.

On G43s vs Wehr grenadier rifles, I acknowledge your point. Wehr grenadier rifles do deal more damage at long range.

So it's not the 1st, and as you see clearly from dps fg42 is an assault weapon like mp44 or mp40



Also, Bar got higher long range dps than g43

They still have 75% less accuracy when moving, so they are still supposed to be used in cover. Plus all of the buffs they get when standing still and in cover.

Just because a weapon has lower DPS at long range than short does not mean you should rush with them constantly.

That would be like saying I should constantly charge with my LMG grens to get close for MAX DPS!!!11!!

Hell, I dont even charge with MP40's unless they have cover or shot blocking to hide behind. It would be a waste to otherwise.

Just like when SMG rangers go lololol and charge and get shredded.

Stats don't lie, but they also don't force you to play like a retard.

I used to play luft alot, Personaly I say its alot better for the FG42 to stay in cover and duke it out at medium/long range, you only want to advance on support weapons and unupgraded rifles. Mp44 actualy doesnt loose so much acc on the move, and they can buy a flame nade, increasing the power of their assault.

lol it wouldn't be wise to charge with LMG as you cannot fire on move with it. but with assault weapons   MAX DPSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!1111 is what you want the most.

DPS is not a 'stat'  it's the sum of other stats counted together - accuracy , damage, rate of fire etc.

We don't have a 'dps' in coh that you can alter. IT's just a representation of damage.
