It has been discussed many times but i feel it needs to be brought up again.
Smoke should be only available on mortar/arty type units, and not on infantry/commanders/offmap smoke because it's just too powerfull tripling the effectivness of the inf units with a minimal effort on the players side that is using it.

lol nugnugx got ownd by smoke of command tank/riflenades and riflenades/piats and now it need to be nerfed - thats classic
actually its a smart play and not just blobbing g43 storm tactics squads with some 50mm behind and p4 IST
i see absolutely no problems with smoke i even would like see it used more often maybe introducing smoke nades?

what's so smart about blobbing piats + rifle nades and dropping smoke? it requires less skill than using 3 type of units compared to 1 inf blob which you can cover with 1 smoke. yes very smart.

riflenade smoke isn't that good so you need command tank smoke and piats without lt hit nothing so you need that too and without at guns its a bit difficult to play against anti infantry tanks
means 5 units at least and an ability

there is nothing wrong with smoke then but with 6 men commando squads that get piats and grenades and commando"smoke" which some kind of other smoke allows to gtfo when in trouble
there was an other thread (i think) about giving 6 men commandos with no basic munition cost attached cheap piats
and afaik i posted there that its retarded op to have 130mun 6 men piat commandos with commandosmoke

Smoke is usually not very combat effective. You can use it to protect a squad from mg fire but you'll still have to flank the mg. Commando smoke if used offensive is often a deathtrap and defensive wise it mostly works to protect retreating units. Smoke on artillery units and mortars is never effective and hence rarely used.

Dont make it personal, just move on, dont do same misstakes i have made^^
Personally smoke is great, and not used enough, and i would like to see it be implemented on every indirect fire units, thing is PE has to little flame option, whil EVERY other faction regardless of doc (correct me if im wrong) now has flames

Lol, smoke nades? are you kidding me?? This is the stupidest balance thread I've ever seen. Typical nugnug to want to change the most functional and balanced units/abilities in the game.
/flame on typical pony to act like a dumb retard who needs to l2p /flame off Smoke is broken and not functional because it makes inf practicaly immune to other weapons than fire, and by having smoke other players have to get flamers or otherwise they are screwed. The bonuses recieved against normal small arms fire should be lowered.

also take a notice that the only functional (read OP) smoke is used by allies , axis don't have the same potential to deploy smoke.

Well i dont know tbh, as i said flamers are one of those thing that seem very doc specific with in pe while both brits and allies have them aswell as wher... so... I do not agree with nug that smoke is op, but i would like to see a flamer added to PE in the future, smoke is circumstantial, if there is a lot of smoke move a way, GIVE ground, not every fight has to be won just the battle.

The amount of Smoke generated by Arty units has to be massive because they dispersion is random. You can never be sure that you'll obscure your target area

It would be better like this, you would have to move your squad into smoke, and not stay in one place and do nothing.

Here's a smoke tutorial video i made a year ago. It shows you how to use mortar smoke and by extention smoke in general. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kcur5DKw3Pk
