No, the US very nearly got pushed off the peninsula. You're confusing our overall might with our might that was present at the time. China had just finished defeating the forces of Chiang Kai Shek in a long revolutionary war for which around 100,000 North Korean men had volunteered. By the time the NKPA started their drive down the peninsula, they were a combat experienced force behind a spearhead of T-34-85s which were quite capable for the specific task (read about task force smith being rolled over like a speedbump).

Had they succeeded in taking Pusan we could have had another D-day in Korea, but would we have? How costly would that have been? Every time I hear that argument I always think to myself: there is no difference. Your ideology can be as rosy as you want, but the practical application of it is what matters. Communism has failed in every country that tried it, except maybe China, but only because they are moving away from communism.

There are substantive differences between Communism by Marx and Communism by Mao/Stalin/Kim. And Communism kinda worked in Vietnam, Cuba, and China, though they moved towards capitalism rather than socialism. Just like we technically aren't a completely capitalist country, and have moved towards elements of socialism.

That said, I also think Marx's Communism is also doomed to fail, just like pure capitalism.

Now I might have misinterpreted you, but you seem to think what David Icke writes to be true and that shit my friend is just crazy.

Here are some highlights:

Granted, those ideas are in a class of its own. However, most of the 9/11 conspiracies are pretty much like the moon-landing conspiracies: believable if you know nothing about it. The reason that i know a plane would not be enough to bring down the Twin Towers? Because of one of the designers said so. That plus they were designed to withstand a Military Bomber flying into it with full payload and fuel due to the accident at the Emiper State Building. What happened that caused the Twin Towers to collapse ontop of the plane? Doubt anyone knows, could be a freak accident if certain variable existed that the crashing of the plane exploited, or maybe the terrorists just are a little smarter then we give them credit for, knew that the planes wouldn't be enough and made sure ahead of time that the buildings would go down. Then again it is very american to assume that those terrorists are bumbeling idiots, just because they have a religion and aren't American. As to the Jet Stream thing. There are a large group of people who believe that the wake from the plane (which is the plane cutting through the Jest Stream) is actually a toxin designed to seterilise a percentage of the planet thus doing population control. Not only would this cost vast sums of money to keep quiet and to operate. Its largely unnessecary if two countrys really did want to 'pop control' themselves they could start a really bloody 'border war' that quickly devestates the soldiers on both sides and both countries call off the war in horror, nobody questions a thing, the cost?

Oh and do you really believe that they could get all those pilots trained, but forgot to get a guy who is a civilian engineer to help them know how to take down those towers?
