Any beginners advice? Is it better to just save up and try to get a new tank rather than upgrading the ones you start with? I'm not looking to invest any money into this as I'm moving in 9 days, but I'd like to get the most fun out of this as I can in the next few days I get to play.

No matter what you do it's gonna be slow going. My advice would be not to invest in any unnecessary tank upgrades till you get to tier 3. Find a tank you want to go for then just play till you get it mostly.

i would upgrade most of the t1 tanks to your preferance (thier cheap) so that you can swap and get out of tier 1 quickly and to milk easy early credits. Die, swap, die, swap and you will progress well.

Concentrate on a specific tree and get a new tank as fast as you can. the ones you start with blow hard.

invest in some gol and get a primeum account, 1st game of the day you win gets you double Xp and 50% xo and creds for every other game... So if you play 10 games that day its liek playing 15....

Gameplay wise, do not use autoaim when stationary. Autoaim is only useful when you are mobile and shooting, other than that, avoid it like the plague. It ends up being a bad habit in higher tiers where it actually matters where you aim. Also, know your tank. Dont be an idiot and rush the enemy while in a TD (which Ive done way too many times, usually resulting in a quick demise), or have a slugfest with heavies in a medium. Angling your tank is also beneficial due to armor increase but it rarely makes a difference low tier.

Upgrading your tank varies tree to tree. The general advice is to first get a better cannon, as stock is crippling in new tiers. If you plan on doing that, you need to make sure your tank can support the weight of the new cannon. Engine and suspension usually do not make a huge difference in the heavy/TD trees but it varies from tank to tank. P3 is nice when fully upgraded with engine and suspension. You also need to take into account how many credits you have if you decide to tech straight to the next tier. No point in stockpiling exp for the next tier if you need to play more matches for credits.

My advice comming from the man who had almost every tier 8 in beta and currently at a panther, NEVER use auto aim its un reliable and ofiten fails you, its not hard to shoot and move at the same time.

Also, the best way to play this game is to

1. Set a goal (Ie a tank youd like to get to, for example the Tiger)
2. Plan out how your going to get to this goal
3. Head out for that goal with all things effecting that goal in mind

Becuase without premium it will take you longer and more patience is reuiqred and i reccomend only doing 1 tank at a time without premium untill you atleast have one tier 6 tank.
