Fuel or Munitions? Discuss.

As in... what should it cost in resources? Fuel or Munitions?

I say fuel. Don't fix what isn't broken.

Just a thought. All other support type weapons like the leig, at guns, 17 pdrs, bofors, flakvierling all cost mp + munis with no fuel cost, so why do 88's and howies cost fuel? Could certain spam involving both be curtailed by putting a muni cost? Like lionels howie + rangers & at guns spam or i forgot who did the def spam but 88's and support weapons with high muni upgrades.

I mean why even have tanks if you can have a ton of these and spam muni based upgrades

i would ummm. never normally do this... but tym has a point. i mean obviously 88s and howtzers are both support weapons but take a totally differant cost option then the other support weapons allowing you have bundles of them ontop of all the stuff you already have for munitions. i mean if i get 4 88s i shouldnt be able to get 10,000 shrecks or 5 paks ontop of that, thats getting a little ridiuclous.

Our lionels 5 howitzers and still be able to run copious amounts of rangers with millions of upgrades.

well puddin its not like you HAVE TO pick 88s, and picking one 88 isent going to cripple you. its your choice to setup and 88 and sit around it, you dont have be imobile with a 88, its not like the cost of it would drain all yer muni, one or two 88 would still leave you with enough to make manpacked at and paks.

I always did think this was kind of weird, imo anything that can get repaired (ie 88s, atgs, mgs and such) should cost a small amount of fuel. but of course... we can't repair any of these things in eirr! So I don't know where I stand, I mean tbh, it works as far as i can see. But the opposite goes for what tym says as well should you be able to get a bunch of 88s AND be able to field a bunch of tanks too?

That's what I was thinking. 88's backed up by p4 spam or something.

True, so maybe there should be a muni and fuel cost much like a nebel? it is immobile but it's weird cuz they're the only immobile unit that costs, the 50mm lat is the only mobile vehicle that has a muni cost.

Simple, leave them costing fuel. Unless you think that an infantry coy it defensive coy should be spanking light armour, tanks, and howi/88 spam. Tying them to munitions means that you cannot defend it. Support spam already does not function with either weapon because of pool costs unless you have 36+ pps to waste on each game.

Basically, they need to remain tied to fuel to maintain the balance within and across companies.

It comes down to the fact that it's one of the best Limiters we have. What I mean by that is if you do work it out in the resources that your company can have 88's/Howitzers and Tanks then you've got either:

A strong defensive fallback manned by 88's while maintaining the offensive edge and mobility to decide engagements with the highly mobile tanks.

Or

A Highly mobile aggressive army that can easily remove obstacles in it's way.

Currently, yes you can get both but it severely hinders how many of each. And while yes you can have both methods. This method emphasizes teamwork above all else.
