Guys,

I saw the post about allowing multiple folks to update the patch.  Well, it made me think about this program called Pivotal Tracker.  http://www.pivotaltracker.com/

Its designed for ppl like you.  You can see it in action in the link above and some actual uses of it here....

Hope you take a look and see if it may help you guys out.

It would be quite nice to have this on the bug forum if possible so we could take a look at what bugs are posted and if you have fixed them tbh.
then we don't have to go trough all the threads and see if they have been posted.

Oh no you di'int!

You guys[dev team] all veto'd my wanting to use Trac!
Pivotal tracker is similar to Trac, but with extras we'd never realistically use in this development ;P

It does look good though ;P

I have used this, trac, rallydev and bugzilla. They all have different focuses and purposes and are all good tools.

Well do take look into this for it would be easier for the community and you mods to take a look at the bugs,
you could just get someone(that aint deadbolt) to go over every new thread and get him to type into Pivotal Tracker and both the community can see that the bug has been reported and You guys can take a look at the list and see if there is a bug you can fix and then change the look of the Bug report to say if it has been fixed or if it is intentional.

I would just say take a look at it for it is a good idea.

This is the DF community's Bug report thread
http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/my_view_page.php
they can see what has been reported and what has been fixed and will see in next patch,
well you guys are the mods so you are the end choosers but i hope you guys will take a look at Pivot.

Atleast think about it.

We just implemented a new system to keep track of everything internally, we'll see where that gets us.

But is it gonna help us see what problomes you have solved and are going to fix for next patch?

If you read the patch notes released with each patch, you will see what has been done.
In regards to what is going to be done. It depends on what it is and who has time to fix it. Having it on a list you can read is completely pointless as it will not give you any indication of when it will get done.

We no longer push to get specific items completed for a patch. It was a unproductive system of failure for a number reasons.
For example : If A doctrine completion was on the list for the next patch, but a number of bugs and balance issues show up, we have to stop work on the doctrine and make the bug fix the priority. Or, we ignore the bugs and continue with what is on the schedule.
Of course, if we had 5 coders working full time and no life outside this mod, we could do it all at once.

Our "To Do" list is now run on a priority bases. I am not going to spend my time explaining the priority system as it will just become a debate of what everyone else thinks should be done first......lol

All that being said: We have a list of things to do. When items of a higher priority number come up, they are bumped to the top of the list and other items are stopped until the higher priority item is complete.

So showing the community a list would be pointless; because what might look like it is going to be in the next patch today, could be at the bottom of the list tomorrow.
