First id like to thank Fldash for being so awesome with his time with me and what may at times have been stupied questions

here is the interview in full no edits


1. Is it Technically possible to have more than 3 ranks of Vetrency

Yes

1b. IF so, would you ever consider adding 5 or 10 Ranks of Vetrency to the mod?

You never know what we might do!


2. Will the Opposing fronts Expansion patch Disable EIR for a while during the Transition?

No.

3. How long after OF release do you expect till you have OF fully Integrated into EIR

I'd like it to happen on release day, that may be a pipe dream.  Maybe a week?

4. Will the Situations on the 'World map' Effect the Tactical Aspect  of the in game battles?

Can't release any information on this yet...

5. Considering the Database and website holds all the information its possible to add on more command tree's you could make 4 tree's and 4 sub tree's or even 5\x the possiblity's are endless, of course with this comes balancing and rebalancing would you ever consider doing this?

Expanding doctrines is of course a possibility, we could have 1000 trees with 20 levels if we wanted.

6.are there any technical limitations OF Expansion will get rid of

Not really sure yet, I think there may be a few.

7. is the Technical limitations the only reason you dont Allow captured howitzers, 88's Nebels, ect to be Kept

You mean enemy captures?  If so, I don't allow it because you theoritically wouldn't have the ammo to use it.

8. Are these other Features you havent announced yet that you have planned for EIR?

9. What do you find the most annoying about EIR

Trying to balance the mod and deal with all the public complaints and expectations.

10. What do you find the most Interesting or fun thing ABOUT eir

I think we have accomplished something great with EIR.  No one thought we'd make it this far.

11. if more expansions for the eastern front and the Pacfic theater are announced would these be added to EIR including the war map?

Of course...

12. I noticed That the ability's that gave "% chance when bought to obtain" Disappeared from 1.7 when 1.8 came out, to me this struck me as an off balance change, any reason why this was done? is it possible to see these ability's re added ?

We decided we didn't like abilities that relied on % chance to be useful...

The % free squad abilities are pointless under TAV  Grin

Although...*brainstorming*

You could get a free, 0-pop vanilla rifle squad every 5-10 minutes, or every # call-ins, or something.

yeah i always thought captured guns were used a lot....french arty at dday, russian at pieces in some eastern front battles ...ect.

The thing is; a lot of the American equipment wasn't compatible with German munitions, same goes for German to American, I doubt the US had the rockets to use a nebelweffer.

I wish we could keep captured guns, too.

However, the only captured Allied gun I know that was used in relatively high numbers on the Western Front was the panzerfaust.

And that isn't going to happen.

Some Questions i have concerning the BLITZ Treeīs;


Will there ever be a ability that affects Stormtroopers only in anykinde so i coud focus on em like the allys can on airborne / ranger?



Coud weapon surplus  (all mpīs 50% off) not include any kinde of antitank weapon since i use all my 2200 ammo on anti tank just to handle the pure ammount of enemy tankīs and still run out of at in longer games? Maybe add just 10% off at panzerfaust or schreck or affect bundle grenades.


Lightning war (All troops arive immideatly and vehicles gain 25% speed)
---------1st:    Maybe give all units a blitzkrieg like buff for the first min or half
---------2end: In the version before this the Lighting war was a great ability worth itīs price BUT
                     then the deployment time was decreased by 40%(!)
                     Therefore decreasing the use and advantage that ability gives you also by 40%
                      BUT the price was not reduced by 40% or was it?

----------The blitzkrieg ability:  t2 and t4
Itīs in my opinion the worst Ability: I used it in 2-3 fight when we had 100 cp and its nearly worthless
therefore it shall be: I suggest:

----Make a ability with cooldown just like assault where the t4 greatly reduces the cooldown and increases the effect
----Buffed
or
----Burned and maybe replaced witht this:
Blitzkrieg  -> "Name" Reduces the deployment time/weapon setup time for hmg, pakīs, motars by 60%
Conviction (all inf. gains xx% movement speed, all tanks gain XX% turret turret rotation,
or if it is possible: When you only hold 20% of the map you gain blitzkrieg ability like boost.


Well and maybe  Assault shoud say: Not for volkīs

Just answer with no to all and i wont molest you again,

Were considering Phil's House of Fun, I think it has a ring to it, that EiR lacks.

nice phil nice..but i agree blitzkrieg seems kinda worthless(the ability) and cant u make lightning war speed up infantry a tiny bit too? would it be possible to make a passive ability called Lightninwar that would act as blitzkrieg and make infantry somewhat faster
