I'm going about learning RGD's, starting by watching as many tutorials as I can on youtube. I'm also attempting to create a few units etc to see if I can get the hang of it.

My question is, what's the best way to learn? Trial and error? Tutorials? Also, would I be of any use to you guys if I do indeed learn them well enough?

Best way to learn rgds is by doing obviously, I suggest you make a little mod of your own and mess around.

This is frustrating. I made a unit, thought I'd set it all up correctly, then realise I fucked up the spawner completely and couldn't work out how to fix it so I ragequit. lol. I'll try again tomorrow.

Ive tried to do the same. Corsix hates my PC and I cant figure out how to make it work correctly half of the time, every time I try to open a file it crashes. So, obviously, I gave up Smiley. If you manage to figure this out frag, you're creating my unlocks. Maybe we can balance them via lolspamming them after you've created them xDDDDDDDDDD

This is gonna sound stupid but I can't find the answer anywhere, how do I actually save the mod so it shows up in coh folder? :S

Nvm. It's because of STUPID WINDOWS FUCKING 7 THAT REQUIRES ADMIN MODE ON FUCKING EVERYTHING FOR IT TO ACTUALLY WORK. I don't get why they made it like that, so fucking gay.

lmfao I made like, the TrenchClearer unit thing from Volskinators stats, I can't get stuff like giving an extra man on upgrade to work though, upgrades are hard Sad

I had my fun, I can do the basics, it's such tedious work though, I might put some more effort into learning the rest after my last exams.

extra man upgrade only works if the sbps file constists of one ebps type since the upgrade will add +1 man to each ebps in the unit_loadout
(for the upgrade, check PE extra man upgrade)

what you could do is make a new squad with the extra man which requires upgrade x to be true. add upgrade x to a building or command tree, and if you wish to replace the squad with that upgrade add the same requirement for the original squad but then set is_present on false

That's what I did, I copied the PE extra man upgrade into the Sapper spbs upgrade along with the rifle grenade, rifle grenade works, I could probably get the demo & satchel to work too if I tried, but got stuck on extra man then got hungry Smiley EDIT: Oh shit, forgot PE extra man upgrade comes from a building, not from the squad itself. Fail Schmidt.

And yeah I see, so I could apply the upgrade to the hq command truck, but it would require original squad to be dead? Or just create two seperate units overall?
