So in effect you'll be blinding assault troops who are taking on a defensive position?  Kind of seems silly to blind your own men to attack a fortified position... and they already take the accuracy penalty on top of that.

Then they wouldn't be able to shoot inf outside smoke because you wouldn't see them and this is the main purpose of smoke.

Just fix the smoke accuracy modifiers so smoke is not a plasma shield, it should be a small modifier like from vets and doctrines   20% or something like that, a mobile cover.

actully nug i would say the main purpose of smoke is for movment. Put smoke on an mg, flank around it out of the smoke and fire. Or infront of an mg and flank around it. The only units that can fire in the smoke effectivly are flamers and RRs

Smoke offmap and move in with avre and troops and use AVRE to decrew, then use troops to capture the mudafaka and procede to rape face.

Without smoke this proboly wouldn't be possible unless the enemy doesn't keep scouts around his 88, and if it did the AVRE would be guaranteed dead.

It would be great as a flanking use for you could drop smoke at both sides and then rush while the enemy army is panicking, would also be a great Scare tactic..

Would be hard(er) to follow units that left the LOS of RR/Flamers/riflenade blob.

Would leave entrenched position assault largely untouched, in that situation the target is known and the position is some vital target (88).

Alternatively smoke cooldowns should be increased.

Either way theres less advantage in using it in every fight with LOS reduction, its easier to disengage and favors situations when you are absolutely needed to kill something (heavy mg spam, bunkers, 88s, etc)

but dropping smoke on atgs would benefit pushing in with vehicles since atgs in the smoke would have less sight, and same with pushing infantry in towards an mg. though, if the atg moves out of the smoke it would gain it's los back... hmm
