Not sure if this should be in the balance or suggestion thread.

But these are the only off maps (that i know of) that are actually affected by the map. i was wondering if it was possible to make it consistent?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I do believe I read somewhere that in precision strike the plane is just there for a visual effect, but i believe you are spawning the strike right above the unit. why cant we do that with bombing and strafing run? make the bullets or whatever spawn above the area you click, and have the airplane just there as an animation.

this would make it much easier to balance since it would be consistent, you wouldnt have to worry about well bombing run is too OP on neunen, but UP on a 4v4 because it takes so long to get to its target.

bump, no one ever responded to this, and I'm curious how people feel and if the way precision strike works is true.

It's fine the way it is.

im not talking about calling it in on a building, ANY off map can be ruined if you or from drift it hits a building. im talking about how these off maps are affected by map size, specifically the width of the map, or how unless something is stationary there's no point in calling these in to go from the top and bottom of the map.

also you are only further proving my point, you say they are powerful (you aren't saying they are OP) but if they were CONSISTENT we could make them less powerful, right now they are powerful, but unpredictable, and that unpredictability is only really linked with the map you are using it on.

also the whole idea of anti air weapons is quite silly in EIRR, units shouldnt shoot up into the sky, and you really shouldnt be able to kill airplanes (as hilarious as it often is!), but that's a different matter.

i does take a little bit of skill to correctly use the "strafing" offmaps. But they dont need any tweaking

How about changing bombing run, stafing run etc, even precision strike to a weapon like the henschel, except its only one run.

You click the genearl area where you want the strike and if there's a unit there, the plane itself will be guided to it. This way map size means nothing.

The only downside is that it would take a bit of control out of player hands because it may not target the unit you want if it finds a better target but at least it'll be a lot harder for bombing run to NOT hit.

You also take away the crazy undodgability of precision strike but it will still be hard to dodge if you make it fast enough.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

Except Precision Strike becomes useless if its not going after the target you aimed it at....

Also Tym, it's not that hard to avoid with an ATG or such, just with a mortar or HMG. And even then you can dodge.

Of course, we could replace Precision Strike with a Stuka Bombing Run, make it like a howi Barrage but with Bombs from the AB ability.

Usually you have some good points in your out-side-the-box thinking tym, but that all seems quite counter productive.

first off ampm is right, precision strike is usually used on atgs, and if you are paying attention, its usually not too hard to escape.

but to me it makes more sense to turn the runs into the same way PS is used, you still have control over it, map size doesnt matter, and your plane wont get shot down since it will just be an visual effect.

you can't do a run the same way ps is used, at least i dont think so

i'd personally find it more enjoying a plane that tries to hit its target.

what if you made it like the creeping barrage off map?i think i know what you mean, off maps are going to hit in a circular area compared to a air strike that hits in a consecutive line.
