Alright, I'm going to make it short but I've never seen a reason to use this thing, trough vanilla to CoHO to this mod the thing always seemed so cool yet so... useless...

So unless I've missed something I'd just like to suggest what I always hoped it could be, an artillery gun... the range does not have to be that great but I always figured it would make sense for it to be a howitzer, not something that has to get within a range were just using a Pz4 would make more sense...

Unless Blitz not having any form of artillery is supposed to be set in stone, I think it would be a more fitting use for the StuH if it's possible.

Considering how cheap and low pop they are, I think the StuH is just fine the way it is.

Even if it is cheap, that's not really the point...

"Hey, these high explosive shells are very weak!"
"Don't worry, they are cheap!"

Again, for anti infantry just using a Pz4 is miles faster... and that's what the StuH is supposed to do, it's even an unlock that means you have to spend points that could be better used to even buy the thing in the first place...

But hey, at least it's cheap right?  Wink

Actually looking at it now, one would have to ditch "German Engineering" (second repair kit), Tigers or Stormtroopers to take the damn thing...
Who would do that? I cant see anyone really...

I suppose you could run without GE, but there is no way in hell that would be worth switching for a unit that's best feature is "At least it is cheap"   Undecided

The price is 9 pool, 8 pop, 160 fuel and 380mp by the way, that's 90 less than the Pz4 and just 15 less than the ostwind, It's not even cheap enough for what it does...

Unless it's actually some sort of wonder machine in this mod that I've missed all along.

STUHs are awesome. But its a meta-game fragile unit. If the metagame doesnt fit, stuh is not well off.

Consider its role like a ostwind. Heavily Deter/own infantry, hurt some light vehicles, barely dent tanks but never wanting to go 1v1 vs them.

Short answer: you aren't using them well or "right"

160 normal, 185 with skirts.

How is the gun weak lol? Gibs pretty much all enemy infantry 2.5 meters away from impact. Althought panzer is in general superior due to its reload, it cant even gib puny engineers .5 meters meters away from were the shell hit.

Although its meant for AI it is also capable of being backup AT, seeing that it has 44% chance to penetrate a pershing at long range, although it does do less damage to them.

The stuh is glorious, if used right.

Because of this thread my next 5 games as WM will be using companies with no tank/vehicle other than stuhs.

Alright then, I suppose I'll give it another shot, I've been thinking of making a medium tank based company for a while anyway, It's just been so hard to find a reason to dump the heavies (as seen in that picture earlier today  Cool)

Just don't purchase top MG and use muni's on storms. STuH + Storms with hordes of volks is bound to work one way or another!

Well I suppose they work... if the explosions didn't miss entire squads sometimes...
The shell landing right between 2 low health ranger squads and not a single one dying is lame.

StuuuuHhhhhs!

Kinda like a StuG but with 45 range and boom gun. Ultimate weakness to them is just a M10 which they have nothing against but couple of schrecks around them solves the problem kinda magically Cheesy
