I saw nothing about a Diablo III art change. I saw them say that the Art Director had quit, and that the current art style of the game would remain. A poor choice on their part, I feel. I'd hate to be presumptuous, especially since I know very little of what they do on the technical end, but to me it seems like they're just being stubborn.
All in all this doesn't effect the raging hard on I get when I think about how much pure fucking joy the game will be. It's certainly my kind of RPG.

very old news, but i totally agree, the new look it crap compared to old diablo, diablo III really does look like WoW and I am not happy about that. though tbh, DIII is going to fucking rule, everyone is going to buy it, and learn to ignore the color palette they use. And I'm sure someone will make a skin pack to change it to look more like the old Diablos.

Meh, micro-transactions + consta-online requirements + carebare environment == boycotting game.
*shrug*
There will be better clones unfortunately.

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

Sounds kind of hilarious to bring chaos, anarchy and desperation to a world of candy and ice cream.
Have you played Overlord?
Such a exceptionally good theme. It was ruined by your minions being a bit boring the gameplay too simple. Another example is Dungeons. You also play the bad guys there but in that universe Evil is more preoccupied with interior design and vicious furniture :p
Bullfrog! They made syndicate. Another exellent game where you played as the arguably bad guys in a world of bad guys. They were also behind the original Dungeon keeper. What the hell happened to the guys at bullfrog, tbh.
To think of how great some of the games of the 90s were compared to what we get released for a lot of money development-wise makes me a sad panda

Lol.
I've hated Blizzard ever since after D2. Seriously, look at the catalogue of games that they have released since 2000. Look at how LONG it took them to develop games, and the games that are currently in development.
8 years to release SC2.. why? Was it being worked on by one guy? I mean sure, it's a marketing strategy, but frustrating and alienating your potential customers who DON'T play WoW is a MASSIVE loss to the company. The arrogance of making it clearly obvious that they don't NEED to produce games anywhere near the speed of their competitors also makes them look terrible. It's the difference between people buying their future releases, or torrenting them.
Bioware are at the top of their game right now, and they deserve it. Strong gameplay elements and fast, on time releases as well as quick and attentive patches.
Heck, even Bethesda release games on time (even though they're all clearly still flawed at 1.0 release) just to make the customers happy, then they spend the next few months patching.

Dungeon keeper with online and eir persistency would be bad ass.
Maybe even without base building, just with traps and doors.
Vet 9 vampire
2 factions for start - Good and Evil
Knight = pershing
Horned reaper = KT
