fldash - Lead Developer / Designer

Design Team:
Ucross, Forefall

Balance Team:
Lai (Team Lead), Unkn0wn

Developers:
Phil, naradaman, roflmao

Forum Moderation:
Akranadas

I'm interested in adding 2 more balance team members.  If you are interested, you must private message Lai and myself with why you think you'd be a good balance team member and outline your balance philosophy.

nice to have a dedicated message dictating what to expect / see out of whomever.

So for any in game balance issues we talk to unknown and lai but we can not expect any actual game changes unless talking to ucross/forefall correct?

ie development creates the idea, balance team makes it work..

It's not that distinct.  Both areas will still overlap, it just gives more focus.  For example, many design changes will require balance and many balances may alter design (though the later is not ideal).  So we're all still working together basically =P

And ultimately, everything either gets approved or discarded by me.  Wink

i lol'd when i read the though the later is not ideal part.. I always hated it when i would create something and someone else would take my vision and alter it beyond scope of its original design..

Ya, its just good to see the correlation for the community is all, and thanks for the reply.

I would apply, but I'm too argumentative.

On the other hand, I hope whoever they get realizes that balance doesn't mean equal, because equal means boring. Doctrines should be weaker or stronger depending on who they are facing, and the enemy doctrines ability to counter them.

This goes towards units as well. One unit does not need to directly compete with another unit to justify points cost EXCEPT where their roles are the same (AT vs AT they should do their job equally well for their cost, etc).

yes of course, it also needs to factor in what the unit is used for, exsample an HMG faceing 3 rifelmen squads charing the front owns them

1 rifelmen squad from behind owns the hmg
