Normandy Beaches Competition

Hey kiddies!
So basically, when the warmap starts, if it's gonna start properly, we need a map for each beach landing, right? For each major one, Omaha, Utah, Sword, Gold, and Juno.
We do not currently have those maps. I mean, we have a little 2v2 on Gold Sector, and the half finished Omaha Beach map, but nothing too good.
So I propose that you guys make a map for each one! I've started a thread for each one, and will be updating as the day goes on.
Rules are:
Post in relevant thread for the map, what size map you are making.
e.g. Sword Beach - 3v3
Post in the thread for the map that you're going to try to make if you want to have a go.
You can have multiple entries if you wish, and if you are making, for example, a 3v3 and 4v4 version of the same map, remember that you must actually increase/decrease the size of the map, NOT just add/remove spawn points!
Rewards!
Winner:
400 Action Points, and 150 Resource Points for Warmap on one company of their choosing.
Runner ups (A few, depending on # of submissions):
250 AP, 100 RP.
Entrants:
100 AP, 40 RP.
+50 AP, 20 RP per additional entry for the same person. (So 2 maps entered = 150 / 60)

my map is shit
p.s if you want anywhere near a half decent map then i'd propose more rewards than 5 reward points. it's far too time consuming just to recieve 5 reward points, unless ofcourse u like that kinda shit like meh.

Now bear makes his own funny thread. It's unsurprisingly not funny.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

I don't think you realize how powerful RP will be when the Warmap is implemented.
For example, if you choose to assault a sector on the Warmap it takes 15 RP. You must assault a contested sector in order to move units there. Units you move there will not even show up until the turn has processed ( about 8 hours )
So ya, 5 RP is is a very large amount in the Warmap.

i dont think you realise how much time it takes to make a decent, good looking map?

Your right deadbolt, and I would never argue how much work that is.
I was just trying to let you know how valuable that amount of RP actually is. Right now we have been handing them out like candy ( 10 at a time ) which has made them look less valuable then they will be when the warmap is implemented.
I would compare 5 RP to getting 45 free pp when you had a level one account. That's enough to unlock a T2 doctrine.....
Anyway, I am not going to argue what the "payment" for making a map should be. I just wanted to clarify the "currency" value of 5 RP

yeah i know, you can understand my skepticism of how little 5RP sounds, having not played the warmap or payed much attention to how it all works or having a grasp on what 5RP would amount to. i'm just going off of what i know on how long maps take to make. no harm done

Warmap is very much right around the corner. It is now in it's second phase of Beta testing in the Development lobby. The SDT, Coding, and Balance team are currently playing it to work out the last few bugs.
We are still at the mercy of EiRRMoD's real life schedule, but if he has the time to correct the bugs, I would expect to see a community "Beta" release before the end of the month.

SOme of the most iconic invasion images are from Juno beach. You'll find alot of source material like pictures and video.
Also for anyone who wants something oher then open sand beaches and open green fields. Juno's a good go. The landing area is right into an urban area so you can do different stuff with it. Not just Hedgehogs and shit.
Keep in mind though that an actual Seawall is a huge barrier to movement so you might want that to be strictly cosmetic. Also Buildings are way better then Bunkers in CoH(because there are more of them) so you'd have to balance the town properly
